My family always called those "chewy dumplings" or "tomato soup" dumplings because my great grandma always put them in her homemade tomato soup. My husband's family called them "rivlettes" and put them in a creamed hotdog and potato soup they called "rivlette soup".😉

We do exactly that. We are grid tied, but we also have a stand alone solar array. We use the solar for a majority of our needs, but it won't run hot water heating. And the biggest issue is learning to not Operate numerous high power drawing appliances at the same time. My husband wired in transfer switches and relays, and delay timers to make it seamless. Happy boxing day.

Hi Chelsea👋🏼 I hope you enjoyed your time away from KZbin; I sure missed your beautifully friendly face! I love the updated cabinets. The new color and white appliances really did brighten up the kitchen. I hope you’re pleased with the results so far. Processing organic hogs for Christmas gifts is a great idea. I would love to receive meat raised right as a gift! I am also a soup in the winter person. I almost never eat soup from April thru September; same thing with heavy casseroles; those months I crave fresh veg and *berries!* OMGOODNESS the bunkie is bigger snd cuter than I thought! Hope all is well at LMR and your family is healthy. Hugs, Doc ❤

You will have to get another milk cow - skim the cream and give the milk to the pigs to offset the feed bill that way you can still give scraps to them. I give it all to the chickens and what they don't eat gets tromped down and composts in the manure pile when coop is cleaned out. Cabins look great!! Good video.

Hi! We have a bunkie too for maybe 6 years now (10x10 one) Just a note about the loft… we slept there a couple of times and even if we are under quite strong tree canopy it gets very hot in the summer(we live in Quebec) (there is only one window up there and we have no electricity) even so that I had a heat stroke one night and we never slept there again. The bunkie we have you can see down stairs (we have a fence like thing so we don’t fall) sorry for my English even tough I’m bilingual I’m too tired to think straight haha. Just wanted to let you know about that point since I see yours is not as protected by trees.

Hi Chelsea. I have a question which leads to a suggestion. May be possible, maybe not. My idea is, instead of utilizing the closet as small pantry, perhaps there is potential access from downstairs up to the small closet that could possibly be configured as a "silent butler." This would virtually eliminate having to carry your heavy pantry goods (which can be tiring) up and downstairs several times a day. An old fashioned manual pulley system could be used instead of electric motor. It's just a thought.... ☺
