In January 2000 I was 12 yo and me and my family just moved from Germany to the US. At the end of the very first day of school, I sat in that yellow school bus waiting for the other kids to hop in so we could go home. And this song was playing loudly on the radio. Everything felt so surreal, being in this different culture, seeing these american kids looking so cool and confident hopping one by one on the bus. no you guys are just airheads. first off music is subjective. a song doesn't have to necessarily mean the same thing to you as the artists intended. second, you would be dumb to sit here and say the those two emotions are only tied to metal. you also cant talk when you have a misfits playlist. I'm sure punk has a dash of hatred in their songs but who am I to say. most metal today like lorna shore has way more emotion than most of the generic mainstream stuff nowadays. metal uses more than just two emotions, juts like other genres dont just talk about rainbow and sunshine all the time. you can find depressing and hateful songs in almost every genre.

Mainstream music has gone to complete shit but in this day and age there is way more good, intricate music out there. The music like this that is defended from past decades and considered the best music ever is very often just basic rock music. Not music that is musically profound or anything and that bothers the shit out of me.
@peterrobinson603410 жыл бұрын
Chamblabla Good music is just that. It is music that an individual listens to. Simple, people don't have to follow, they just have to LIKE something. As you grow, so does your taste in music. HOW THE FUCK have we yet to tackle what our entire fucking species has accepted for who knows how many millennia? like SERIOUSLY? can a brother get a backup driver for his self conscious/state of self awareness? think about it lol. we're no better than the cromagnons and other human species that our ancestors systematically erased from existence lol cuz we ALL are in possession of a one way ticket to that's sending us right back where we came from. What is life without having be able to tell it? acceptance of death without going down fighting is completely voids each and everyone of our lives of any and all meaning.
