Tom... I wish you would renovate for YOU and your kids. YOUR family and the kids growing up in that house to be comfortable. Don't worry about if some future girlfriend will like it, etc... I always say (movie quote), "If you build it, they will come". Live your life for your family and the rest will fall into place. You can be comfortable now. The kids will have more room and comfort now. Life is always changing. If the new person wants to renovate or move, that's a different situation in a different time.

Looks fun but no helmet is dumb. I speak from experience of a road accident that resulted in a fractured skull. It’s great your out to exercise but be safe!

Tom, don’t worry about wearing a helmet. People have been riding bicycles for a long time without wearing helmets and they survived. It’s all about riding responsibly.
