I'm an 'intermediate' level played...I get much more from Jerry playing this level of opponent..who is playing perhaps 'natural' but flawed moves...when analysed by a master level player rather than 2 GMs with excellent technique at a deeper level than my current understanding allows. Keep up the good work Jerry.

11:50 that is an interesting plan on rerouting the knight in order to trade off light square bishops. problem is that white would play h3 g4 and defend both the f5 and h5 squares influencing some activity of 3 of white's pieces, and white's g4 pawn would be hard to eliminate

Queens gambit declined! Its amazing you uploaded this video exactly while I was thinking about having to learn my openings. I always am getting ran over by ppl having knowledge of opening trap lines when I am just picking moves on the fly. It's kind of weird because before when I was thinking about the Kings Indian, you uploaded a video showing strategies involving that. Nice live cast last night btw. I was PurePawnage, thanks for answering some of the questions I was bugging you with! LoL

1. This is hard to take seriously considering the 1000 pt rating difference. 2. Congratulations on the rating gain, I think I remember you at around 2600 last time I watched.

Yeah, I understand how you feel about that. I'd recommend you look up the Computer Impossible games on his channel, those are fun losses to look at. And I'm sure you just saw his latest video, he lost quite badly.

Simple, he wants to teach you about mistakes *you* make. Everyone wants Jerry to play stronger opposition, but since he only plays his fans, that's not going to happen very often. Try to think of Jerry as an entertainment channel instead of an educational channel, that tends to clarify the reasoning behind some of his decisions. If you want analysis of games between high-rated players, go and watch ChessExplained (ICC Blitz) or KingsCrusher (Analysis of SuperGM games, themes, psychology, etc.)

What website/service is jerry playing on in his blitz videos?
@StormSong8
@StormSong8 11 жыл бұрын
Watch Jerry's livestream. You'll see that he plays anyone in his cafe by making them guess a number. If they guess correctly they get a chance to play, regardless of their rating. So take issue with those NMs and IMs you are referring to for being lousy guessers, not Jerry.

In this case, I would have taken the rook on a8. When he recaptured, his rook would be out of play and he'd have to move it again. If you delayed, he could move the a rook, and after the exchange, his recapturing rook is well-placed. There's no nett difference, I think your reasoning was flawed:-)

what program or server you use to play your games Jerry ?!

I was thinking the same thing but after putting it in a chess program black loses very fast by pressing g5. This position is a disaster for black and best black can do is go for queen exchange, but white should decline quickly followed by black trading the queen for a rook. Easy win after that. At least thats what my chess program says.

But those of us who actually WATCH his livestream see ALL of his games. He plays for hours and almost never loses. Jerry has one or two nemeses that give him a hard time, and struggles against Computer Impossible, but that's it. Watch his livestream and see for yourself.

how do the rating on this site compare to FIDE?
@ppp9922

a rating on the website often does not reflect peoples actually skill as not everyone plays on this website regularly... some prefer other websites and only come on this one to play jerry.

The games that get played are random. The games that make it to KZbin are handpicked.

He picks his opponents @ random with a number system. He plays with his live stream viewers - some are 2000+ and others anre under 2000. He's just trying to give everyone a fair chance.

Dear Jerry, I (and I believe everyone else as well) would appreciate if you answer this question (who, BTW, comes up every time you upload one of this videos): Why don't you log into Chess dot com, ICC or playchess dot come and play against a IM/GM? I understand your system here in giving opportunity for players of any level to play against a chess master, and we don't ask you to quit that, but just as well we would REALLY like to see you play against someone in your level+... Thank you! :)

These games are always unrated so no matter what the rating of his opponent neither rating gets changed and recently there have been 2000+ opponents, but what does it matter what the rating of either player so long as its instructive and entertaining?

Sure! I'm not contending that. I can't do the live stream, and I follow him on youtube. I wrote in an earlier video asking for better rated resistance, and I said that I don't mean to criticise him, and I don't! I reiterate that I think his format is instructive and educational. I just fucking want to see the man against a worthy opponent. Yes, I want to see the wins balanced out. I like to see Mohammad Ali hit the canvas once in a while! But I also want to see him kick ass when he deserves it!

CN, I love this videos, but a lot of this stuff is way way over my head. Could you maybe do a series explaining some basic stuff to people that maybe got into chess in their school chess club, or just play with friends?
