If the AD does not give specific reasons for the dismissal and timing, the rumors will become the truth. If Andy doesn’t have a gag order, he can go public with his version. If it was on the field say so. If it was the locker room say so. If the timing was to get in front of hiring and the transfer portal, say so. Everything I heard was just platitudes. People say JD was “ballsy” for firing the coach. That’s one ball. Two balls is “this was my decision, and this is why I made it”. Overall his comments were far from transparent. Salary? They better be prepared to go well north of $2M/year. Wyoming and San Jose state are both well above $2M. Tedford at UTSA is above $2.5M. Many P5 coordinators are well above what BSU paid Andy. BSU is recruiting nationwide for the next coach, they need to compete nationwide. Money talks, BS runs a marathon.
