Way to go, Doug! Nice to hear from you again. I was listening to the Weather Channel last night and heard you a couple of times. What a heck of a storm. Keep up all the good work, and thank you for bringing these videos to KZbin. For those of us who love weather, these videos provide a lot of education. Even though I'm totally blind and have been so all my life, I really remember the feelings I had during my experiences growing up in South Florida. My twin sister and I were born 2-1/2 months early at Broward General Hospital in 1964, and the doctors said I only had a 1% chance of surviving. I'm a fighter, though, and here I am today. It's good to be alive.

@@tangleduniverse5042 Firstly, please let me apologize for responding three years later. Secondly, no you're not being rude at all, and thank you for the question. I use JAWS screen reading software from Freedom Scientific dot com. I do pay for it, though. I happen to like it very much. If you or she/he can't afford it, we already have "Narrator" on all Windows operating systems from Windows 7 and up. If either of you use Ios or Macintosh, there's a program called "Voiceover" already included. There's also another freeby called NVDA which stands for Nonvisual Desktop Application. Depending on which one you choose, you'll get anything from an electronic voice to real, human voicesI like Voiceover for my IPhone 6 SE, and Narrator has 4 human voices. Jaws has the most human voices along with Eloquence which is the default voice already included with it. Of course, if you've both already found out about this, I hope my opinion helps either way. You wouldn't believe how devastating Hurricane Mathew was. When the hurricane pass my house I stepped outside an realized my sunflower was destroyed. The whole neighborhood grieved for that poor thing. Not even Haiti can compare to such catastrophe.

I used to be station at the Naval Sub Base in King's Bay, GA and NAS JAX in Jacksonville, FL. I had a friend that was from Cocoa Beach. We'd go there every weekend. A lot of good times. I was extremely worried when I found out Matthew was taking the path it did. Unbelievably grateful it didn't cause the damage predicted.

we had about that in Charleston,SC. About 40 gusts to 65 or so Saturday morning. Heavy rains the night before and winds between 25 to 45mph for the most part. Not even close to the 100mph that was advertised by the NHC. These systems are not as strong as they used to be. Hugo was the last major we ever had in 1989.

Rode it out in South Carolina about 30 miles from the coast. Light poles were swinging in circles and we had no power for 14 days.

I have to admit, watching was a guilty pleasure. The guy could have been killed by falling trees or power lines, or debris. That said, I live up north and have a condo there and I was able to see that it survived, as well as the rest of the town. Bravery or crazy, thanks for the ride.

ThePoloPicker - You are 100% wrong. I was born and raised in Cocoa beach, and I can confirm, without a doubt, that this is in Cocoa Beach. They passed some of my good friends houses in Cocoa Isles in this very video. With the exception of driving through Cape Canaveral and the port, the only other time they aren't in Cocoa Beach is when they are leaving the city heading west back to Orlando. Pick a time in the video and I can tell you exactly where in Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral they are.
