Your work is absolutely invaluable! :o the amount of times this video blew my mind with a single line of code is rediculous :P thanks mate! ✨🔥

It's sad that KZbin no longer displays the amount of dislikes - because there were (and *are* I assume) almost none on your videoes - with good reason. I appreciate that you don't act overly enthusiastic, which is only noise to me - a trap that many KZbinrs fall into. Superb at explaining complicated stuff.

You are my link to the glsl world. Never got such a good teacher.

Sorry I missed this one at first! I've been watching your videos for a while now and you still are, without a doubt, the best shader tutorial channel ou there. Keep up the brilliant work!

Great shadow 'trick'! I never would have thought of trying that...

Yeah sometimes you can make use of the very constrained setup of an effect to take some major shortcuts ;)

Came across this one on ShaderToy, looks awesome!

So excited to get some nice tea and code along with this. I never tire of that SDF approximation of a gyroid. Try Intersecting it with a square bipyramid resting on a point, if you pick the scaling and angle right you'll find a lovely sun pattern on some of the outer faces.
@TheArtofCodeIsCool2 жыл бұрын
Awesome I'll be sure to give that a try!

There was an image in one of the Magic Eye books that was a hollow ball gyroid like that. It's a cool shape.

Hmm I've been wanting to look into stereographic stuff. Perhaps I'll do some experiments!

What do you think would be a good bias if I were to use the other shadow casting method? Currently my bias is n * 0.1 but of course it changes dramatically how the shadows look if I change it even slightly. As the distance to the center increases the bias has to be higher I guess as precision is lost? What bias would you use? I see how superior your occlusion map shadows are, they are smooth and infinite. Wow, really impressive
@TheArtofCodeIsCool2 жыл бұрын
Not sure exactly what bias you are talking about here. Are you doing raymarched shadows?
@mat-qt4fq2 жыл бұрын
@@TheArtofCodeIsCool Yes just the extra raymarching for shadows like you said in the video. I learned the bias term from Scratchapixel I thought it could be used here because I have to cast from a point slightly above the first raymarch hitpoint! :)

Great vídeo! Could you please do something like this in unity? I would love to see some volumetrics in unity. Thanks for this!

Very good video. One subject you might explore is an SDF of a quadratic bezier curve.

Yes that would be cool. It's on the list

Why do people suffer idiots on reality TV achieving nothing when we can watch experts use tools to craft things with skills and talent. Loved it.

Is it C#?

It's GLSL.

GLSL is like C with bits added, so it does look and act a bit like other C languages, such as c# but there's no OOP
