This ACTUALLY terrifies me because my friends son who is a little boy got diagnosed with intermittent explosive disorder (ironically named ied 🙄) and he will also be fine and then just SNAP in a second and start beating family members and NO ONE would help until recently when he finally started talking about hurting himself. He’s on meds and hopefully it will help with time and therapy and I wish this man had gotten the help before prison

The saddest part of the guy who jumped the bench is that if the government had just kept providing his medication then it probably wouldn't have happened. Now they have to provide his medication and house him for thirty years. Good job government, short term savings for long term waste, and that's not even getting into the sad part about him being locked up. Sorry but the judge he attacked should be allowed to sue the government, they knew he needed this medication or something like this would have happened. They could have prevented the attack and if that's not negligence then idk what is.

I agree that mental health is a big problem that needs a lot more support. However, I am not 100% sold on Reddens' perspective or the fact that he is okay when he does have his meds. When the prosecution was giving her statement, he was staring her down and having some quite big facial reactions. Also, his statement showed that he still can not see the difference between someone not agreeing with him and attacking him personally, what he said was not great accountability wise either. Assuming he has his meds now, i still think he feels perceived insults and criticism very deeply and can not control his impulses very well. IMO Part of the issue he has, is that when he feels anger, his impluse is to physically attack the source. This is not the same for everyone nor is it what many people with the same mental health issue deal with. It is that combination that is a dangerous problem, and he doesn't seem to want to really internalise that. I also don't like blaming the court for all of the health care issues in the US; it seems like they tried for a long time, and it is NOT part of their job to fix it. More funding needs to be put into that sector and it truely is horrible the yo-yo effect that can happen between "no mental health" care and the justice system. Part of the conflict is just because someone has a mental health issue shouldn't mean that they should be incarcerated more than anyone else. But if someone needs medication or they are more likely than others to become a threat what do you do? if they are released, there is no guarantee that they would be able to access or continue to take the medication, and then they end up with a new charge. They may also have a history of crimes which may have been contributed to by the mental health issues, but they still happened. Another problem is that the mental health diagnosis of the person doesn't cange the damage or impact on the victim and they should still be protected. I truely hope that in future the court can operate differently with regards to mental health but the suppot outside of the court HAS to be there first. I also think that it should not be part of the court system as I want everyone to be able to access it and without the prerequisite of committing a crime. It is a very sad set of circumstance though and I hope that everyone can heal as best they can from it.

I respect that Charlie doesn't want his attorney representing Donna. Rashbaum certainly knows protected information about him at this point. As for his appeal, why did he hire Rashbaum of he had been representing Donna? Seems like he'll have to prove that he didn't know that; that'll be an uphill battle. If he does get a new trial, the FL Bar needs to investigate Rashbaum.

It's honestly frustrating when these kind of defendants ' support systems suddenly comes out saying they're ready to support them. This guy has been violent his whole life, never given anything back to the society and unless he's medicated he attacks people. Imagine it's your loved one he beats to death because there is no one on the train to stop him. Just because he 'saw red'. That's the worst kind, unpredictable. Even if he had the medication, what's to say he would take it and not just stop when he felt better? Why didn't the support system go out and collect money so they can buy them to him knowing he'll go and attack someone like last time he was off them? Why is it public's concern you don't manage your dangerous and ill family member and don't prioritise the medication he needs rather than wait for free hand outs? Well guess what, he'll get them for free. In prison. Only way anyone is safe from this 'good boy' is when he's locked up. Hope he never gets a chance to attack another person.

I've really struggling with Deobra's case & sentencing..proper Conflicted & sad by it all. I've No sympathy or second guesses about the jail term judge gave him for case involving his poor ex. He's without a doubt guilty of all the bad things he did too that poor young lass, bless her & he should pay for that in the most maximum way. He deliberately & intentionally strived to physically hurt her as much as possible & she deserves justice at highest level for that. I totally agree that he's guilty of attacking the judge & no doubt he caused her mental & physical harm in many ways & again, he needs to pay the price for his disgusting actions & answer for, own up to the horrendous things he did too those 2 ladies & the choices he made & carried out... But... I believe Million % that he intended on lashing out & hitting the judge. I'm really struggling though with "attempted murder" on the judge. I don't believe he had any prior thoughts or intentions ever of launching himself like that, attacking or hurting her nor hurting anyone else at court. Too me, as I watching. it's like was he consciously pissed & mad being called out on something judge said or as seemt too me, was that he'd subconsciously heard something she'd said that hit a nerve, triggered him & just literally snap & have mental break in that instance? He just seemt to fly at her without any thoughts of why, or what he intended on doing it for & split second reaction. Just instant anger, need to act on that. Don't get the intent of want/intent on murdering her at all? Plus, I know others got hurt in the whole mess of it all, whilst they tried helping judge & protecting folks there from him, but he didn't attack them like did judge. They got hurt unfortunately whilst being in the middle of everything happening, just they chose to be there, to jump in centre. It Wasn't his choice, demand, force or anything for others actions or decisions. I'm sorry but I don't get to level of Attempted murder bit or the counts for deliberately hurting other folks.. Dont know, maybe I've missed something so not getting it all proper.. Just feels really harsh & unfair punishment considering everything that known of him & life to this point by police, courts ect.. Wished they've maybe considered bit more of help treatment ect for him rather than as much jail time. It's not going to help him at all & only serves to make his life lower than he feels already is n no hope for him to look for ❤

If he truly has a thought disorder then not having awareness of it, (not knowing that he has psychosis, is the brain diseases affect on the frontal cortex(google Anosognosia). No amount of mental health court or treatment will change that for a percentage of ppl. For the severe cases antipsychotics are not successful, especially for those with legal issues. Sadly. Most likely he has ptsd and rage issues, def severe impulse control problems Personally I feel the judge could have expressed herself more professionally, but that doesn’t excuse his behavior
