Sarah Boone, the woman convicted of killing her boyfriend Jorge Torres by leaving him to suffocate in a suitcase, was sentenced to life in prison on Monday afternoon following emotional victim impact statements. Boone remained stone-faced as the judge delivered the life-changing sentence.

Florida woman Sarah Boone is accused of killing her boyfriend after she allegedly zipped him up inside a suitcase and left him to die. Jorge Torres Jr. suffocated to death inside Boone’s Winter Park home. Boone claims they were playing hide-and-seek, she forgot he was inside the suitcase, and she fell asleep. Video evidence from the night of Torres Jr.’s death shows the victim inside the suitcase yelling for help while Boone records the video and laughs. Boone called 911 the next day saying her boyfriend was dead. She was arrested for second-degree murder.

Her excuses and attempts to justify her actions are sickening. If the relationship was reciprocally abusive, as it seems, all she had to do was withdraw and move on. Instead she committed homicide. Years of alcoholism have warped her mind, leaving her depressed and narcisistic. Not much of a life, awaiting the next bottle.

I have to say that I was surprised by this verdict-happily surprised. Not that I don't think she deserves it, she does. but somehow I thought we were going to get 25-30 years. This judge did everything he could to ensure things were done by the book, crossed all the T's, dotted all the I's-so she couldn't cry foul. Jorge and his family have finally received justice. And, especially after her speech-once again blaming Jorge and lying about her injuries-even adding in new lies about what she says Jorge did to her. Thank you judge!!

I think her charming soliloquy at the end where she blamed EVERYONE including Jorge, HIS FAMILY (in the room), the JUDGE ??!, the courts, the media, the global something and the internet, just every single person EXCEPT herself 😮but she FORGAVE them all .. I think maybe that might have added a few decades to her sentence as she had NO remorse and no real feelings of sorrow at all just the usual .. poor me me me me me me !!!

I was very impressed with Judge Kraynick, right from the beginning. He is a no-nonsense judge, very familiar with the laws of Florida and was not swayed by the enormous amount of posturing and delay demonstrated by the defendant. We are all safe from her, thanks to him.

Refusing a 15-year plea deal, was a simple example of her arrogance. She was exercising her power by keeping her man locked in a suit case. She exercised her power by getting rid of seven or more defense attorneys. Her refusal of a plea deal was also an exercise of her power. This case even made her feel like she was a social media celebrity. Now she will feel power in strutting her little bird legs around a Florida penitentiary.
