I was going to speak on your style of doing CQB, but at the very end, you said that every method is different....and for that, my mouth is shut and salute you for that, good sir. Thank you for this video.

There's a reason why this CQB series hasn't been as nearly as popular as the Project Gecko one with Eli. All these techniques are outdated and just don't hold up under committed resistance. The idea of flowing smoothly from room to room just isn't reality and is only really applicable in HR. Top operating forces use clearing from the threshold aka slice-based entries almost exclusively now. The second you test dump entries with speed clearing in force-on-force situations with incoming fire, they completely break down. See as much of the room as you can from the outside, keep a bail option open and don't rate your methodology on how well it does against paper targets that don't shoot back.

Why dump the room with the full team and leave the hallway (threat) without eyes and a gun on it and then have to breakout again ? I do like that you say all drills are different I fully agree that the drills are a tool and flexibility is key
@stevnweber88614 ай бұрын
Reasoning is a simple logical one, where, if multiple threats arise from different sectors of fire down range that haven't been cleared previously, you only have 1 or 2 pulling security. It is better, numbers-wise, to commit to the safety of a room and have a viable plan B (if there is a window and a way out). Pieing is your best friend and it's OK to "re-pie" out and resume clearing in a methodic manner. At the end of the day, everyone has their own method and it may work for them but it will not work for others. As they say, better safe than sorry and if that takes you to dump a room, then such is life. I personally like keeping at least 2 for security, one if you need security in the cleared room. It also helps if you have a second fire team, then you clear easier and have more for security and clearing the opposite side. I still like the information as one can only get a little better, regardless if people like the new series or not.

@@stevnweber8861 100% with you on this have at least one man covering back out the door, or roll the door and leave somebody covering the threat/Direction of travel, but as you say what works for some may not for everyone else. Knowledge is key and being flexible enough to change to the circumstances.

Question, why take on open doors first before closed ones?
@ProfShibe6 ай бұрын
Well they’re already open. Higher chance someone’s in there and not as loud too if that’s even a concern.
@constructivethinker6 ай бұрын
Most threatening due to the fact that you are exposed to whatever is in that room as you travel past it. There is no exposed slice of a room with a closed door. Additionally in this scenario it was the room approached first.

No rear security after entering 1st room. Knowing there's a closed doorway and ignoring rear security seems insane. So why stand in the fatal funnel when you supposedly cleared the hallway? No need to split clear if rear security was pulling security right? I maybe nitpicking and I know different SOP's and all but a lot of contradictions was happening here. Peace

Can’t knock them. Different strats for different situations. You see the movement but don’t know their training scenario. Also how long these guys been together to be able to read off of each other. Just remain open minded and if there’s a skill set you can use. Take it and use it. Nonetheless there’s editing. And they are in sense center checking or “combat clearing” from the outside just super super fast because they can process it faster based on their experience and it’s again… training. The reality is there’s a small percentage of people that actually do this live. And I’m fortunate to have a toolbox full of stuff I can use. Eli was good but again what’s your stimulus, situation and environment? Teams use full dynamic entry here in the US after explosive breach. Why, because they’ve taken dominance over that structure. Everyone is disoriented giving them the ability to use speed, aggression, & movement. So just remain open minded. Fellas keep teaching.
@roushracinginc6 ай бұрын
There's no magic voodoo to CQB. Sure, experience plays a role, but there's tons of examples of very experienced teams having their SSVA tactics break down under fire (see Lindt Cafe Siege). There's no getting around the fact that as speed increases, your ability to perceive threats, objects, or your own team members breaks down rapidly, that's just human nature. Most teams in the US have moved completely away from dynamic entries except in cases of active shooters and HR. The only ones left still teaching dynamic entries as a primary are collecting an easy paycheck (because it's actually quite easy to explain) or are behind the curve.
