The people are contradicting with Sham don’t know the scriptures. Sometimes Angeles God himself. When 3 angels appeared to Abraham one of them was God, when Jacob reselling with the angel was God himself. In the burning bush angel was God. Angels distinct from God but some places in the Bible angel is God.

That's a shallow interpretation of John 8:17-18. Back up for some context... v.12: _Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life._ If someone is claiming to be the light of the world, that someone is claiming to be God. And since there is only one God - The Father - Jesus is actually claiming to be the Father. (The clear verification of this is in verses 24-27.) v.13 _The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true._ The Pharisees are essentially telling Jesus, "You're not the Father" - that is, "You and the Father are two separate men." v.17-18 [Jesus speaking] _It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me._ Paraphrasing: "You think that the Father and I are two separate men? Well then, let's consider YOUR law, which says the testimony of two men is true. I am one of those 'men' that testifies I am the Father ('I am the light of the world', v.12). And the Father - through the prophet Isaiah - is _another_ one of those 'men' that testifies I am the Father ('The everlasting Father' of Isaiah 9:6). So there you have it, Pharisees. Two separate men, you say...and both of those separate men have testified...that I AM THE FATHER." In verses 17 and 18, Jesus is not _actually_ saying that he and the Father are two separate men. Rather, he is using the Pharisees' own law to trap them in a Catch-22. *If the Pharisees are right* (about Jesus and the Father being two separate men), *then the Pharisees are wrong* (because the two separate men have both testified that Jesus and the Father are in fact the SAME man). *Therefore, the Pharisees are wrong.*
