It should be illegal what Ed did to that guitar. The master in his youth. We miss you and love you Eddie, the world isn’t the same without you. Long Live the Mighty Van Halen. 🎸☝🏽😔

Could you imagine seeing a 21 year do this. Especially in 1976. No one could touch him. Eddie is the king

This version is just unbelievable!!! His picking accuracy and speed are both GONZO here! Such cool runs he's playing here as well.

That audience would be stunned after this solo i bet.

This is crazy hearing all the licks he develops even further, all the licks from Eruption BUT the tapping and divebombs... I would love to hear the gig before and after he started doing it.

mmmmthat tone! you can keep you new modern metal amps, this was the playing and tone that aligned planets!

Tone isn't that great....it's the hands.
@e.l.norton Жыл бұрын
@@Fbanz96Get your ears checked. This is THE tone. Every famous player who saw him in the clubs back then all say the same thing...nobody had that tone. Not before. Not since. Yeah, his fingers of course were the antenna. But, this tone remains unparalleled.

Randy Rhodes, went to see Eddie Van Halen, play one night and was blowing away by Eddie, guitar playing! The person who work with Randy both went to see Eddie play told the story after the concert Randy feel like shit!

I heard that when Randy Roads first heard Eddie Van Halen play guitar, he wanted to quit playing guitar. Wow!!!

No whammy dive bombs or two handed tapping yet, just speed and aggression.

Eddie was always improving his play and style. It was never good enough. He finally mastered it with hours of practice , heart and determination. He was the master.

Holy f'n shit. I've listened to this before but damn this might be my favorite solo from Eddie. No tapping, just pure speed and variation all over the fret board.

this must be when ed was doing the solos with his back to the crowd (alex's idea)

Ryan Eriksson I read in Dave's book, it was his idea so nobody could copy what Eddie was doing.
@rickyperaza4114 жыл бұрын
I think he would only do that when he was tapping, I'm pretty sure he didn't tap anything in this version!

i love how he covers up the tapping

check out as much classic rock as possible. Grunge was my era = fantastic. there "were" real musicians that walked the earth years ago. so its out there, just not here since 2000's and probably not anymore. people are way to occupied with crap music to recognize true talent. get EVERY Led Zep recording and go from there :)
