Recently I had the pleasure of hosting a live event in Sydney, Australia. This event was part of a lecture series called The Brain Body Contract. My favorite part of the evening was the question and answer period, where I had the opportunity to answer questions from the attendees of each event. Included here is the Q&A from our event at the ICC Sydney Theatre.
Thank you to our sponsors

I wish they were readily available in my place. Microdosing was my next plan of care for my husband. He is 59 & has so many mental health issues plus probable CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac. He's constantly talking about killing someone. He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD know if it is common for an obsession with violence.

In this era of curated image and fake personas I really appreciate you show yourself that true and humane, it allows me to be proud and feel safe of sharing with others that you are a hero to me. I’m really excited about the research being done into these alternatives therapies for mental health issues. I worked in healthcare so I always believed in western medicine. I was working a high stress nursing job, started into peri-menopause which led to chronic migraines then my mom was diagnosed with ALS. I was dealing with too much. I went to my doctor for help. Which led to other doctors and other doctors. It’s over 10 years later and 22 psych meds later. I’m still scraping my brain off the sidewalk. Thanks for sharing your personal experiences and for bringing this information to the masses. It so important that more attention is brought to this issue. I’d do anything to get the last 12 years of my life back so if you an help even one person it’s so worth it.

Dr. Huberman, thanks so much for the great content! This is my new favourite podcast channel. I can't help but trying to give an idea for an episode, to talk about, in particular, endurance sports. I know you've covered the subject in passing at times but I'm curious about multi-hour endurance sports - marathon (ultra and regular), triathlon, etc. I hope all is well. Thanks

Anyone here with an advice how to deal with brain fog? I’m working a 12h shifts that require continuous focus for hours on end, so the clarity of thinking is priority, but I’m also trying to stay in relative shape. Thats said, every afterwork workout gives me a lot of brain fog the next day. Is there a way to deal with this? tried with every supplement there is, adaptogens too, nothing works.

@xeropunt5749
@xeropunt5749 22 күн бұрын
normal life. right belief & action = right feeling. you can’t feel paradise 24/7 just do what you need. depression is just tired of being tired. rest or act for energy. it’s too simple, so people go around, offering their “depression” and not doing anything about it. meds do not work because you have to see how you got there. It wasn’t because lack of meds. It was because months and years of certain choices.

Is it really true that ketamine and PCP are the same compound??? 30:22
@FoursWithin

Structurally similar, but also different. That's why one is still in medical use and the other is a schedule II drug that has been medically banned since 1965. PCP is more addictive with more extreme side effects including aggression. Both are potentially dangerous addictive and brain damaging if abused.

Not true. It's not a cookie cutout form hat fits everyone the same. Different species have different amounts of psilocybin content. Only by knowing the numbers for each species can you have any idea how strong it will be. The other factor is body weight and how much food has been consumed in the last 8 hrs. Also certain individuals are much more sensitive to psychedelics than others, and are capable of experience full ego death at much lower quantity than others. While some people are insensitive and require a larger than average dose to feel anything.

If placebo effect is real, what sense does it make to give placebo to control group patients in clinical trials? Doesn't it skew the results? If a patient who received new medicine has less hope or is more negatively inclined in any way, it's not unlikely that the person will have poorer results than someone from the control group who has stronger psychy / is more positive about life / has stronger will. I don't understand why can't past results of treatment make for control results. Especially when it comes to terminal illnesses. Giving someone placebo even though there are reasons to think the drug tested would save their life doesn't seem moral to me. Also, our bodies are so complex that there is no way that placebo/real drug is the only variable. Why not treat the past cases as control group in the case of potentially life-saving drugs?
