In many cultures, such as the Māori and the Aymara, time is understood as flowing backwards. You cannot see what is behind you, that is, the future. You can only imagine it. But you can see what is in front of you, that is, the past.
@sapereaude97372 жыл бұрын
Wow, that was deep. Thanks for this video, it was really inspiring. I think in every aspect of live, balance is basically the answer. You never know when you die. If you are dying in 1 week, you would've wanted to live the best week of your live - forget about the future and live in the present. But if you are dying in many many years, you would've wanted to save your money and dedicate your time to the future - forget about the present and live for the future. But if you are doing both - living for the present AND the future - you are doing right I think. Because the interesting thing is: Even though there is nothing else than ,,today", we are still having dreams about the future in our mind: Becoming rich, successful or just living a good life with close friends and family. So we should still approach that dream - simply because that DREAM is present.

thoughts are paradox..ironies one after another..that's why we also makes multi statements and religions that contradict each other and we use them as we deem fit to the specific circumstances ... living for the better future isn't necessarily means wasting todays for hoping for the better future but rather embodying-embedding acts & thought's developments into our daily life so that we enjoy meaningful moments where we have nurtured ourselves in both today and a probable future that is on the way. to be fulfilled and feeling alive in this timeline that connects today(present) to later (future)...

I lived as an Aristippan hedonist for much of my life. It was great at first, but very quickly it got boring and empty...so very empty. When all you care about is pleasure, them when you don't feel pleasure you're miserable. And after a while your dopaminergic system just gets down-regulated and all those pleasurable things just don't work any more...then you're left with nothing. Epicurean hedonism is much better but the best way of living, by far, is that of the Stoics.

Interesting timing... to quote myself from yesterday, I responded to a friend who commented about us (humans) mining all the precious metals out of the earth... I said, "We're Humans, we'll figure out a way!" (referring to how we will mine asteroids, in the future) Coming from me, that positive spin was probably a shock. I am definitely a prepare for the worst kind of person and I feel like there are more useless -no, misdirected humans on this planet than ever before. But that quote was my... Hope for Tomorrow. Humans have accomplished truly unbelievable feats... and anything other than the sun burning out, will not stop us! Edit... It is still always wise to prepare for the worst.
