As someone who grew up outside of Camden, the most unrealstic thing about this film was that they were driving down the city roads quickly and smoothly and not bouncing around from potholes to the point where their suspension gave out. edit: youtube keeps filtering my replies to the gentleman obsessed with making the states of cites a competition below me. All one needs to do is google stats about Camden and you'll see what I mean.

Hurricane Katrina dumped and pushed enough water to them. They didn't need more water. That's has been a blanket statement used by news media, politicians, and Hollywood. Hurricanes really do mess up logistics. Waist deep water, and hurricane strength storm surge does a lot of damage to infrastructure. Sure, just blindly send rescue teams in, and watch their vehicles get stuck in waist deep water, on roads that are washed out and no longer there. Now you need to send another rescue crew out to get the rescue crew out. And if the road isn't washed out, you still have to deal with all the debris and junk that now scattered all over ground. Just can't see it because you're in waist deep of water. Can't helicopter water in, because you don't have a safe area to land near the Superdome.

Some people say this one's not really a "Die Hard" movie, but I think that's kinda being overly picky about it, from people who like to hate sequels for no reason. The kind of people who either hate a sequel because it's just a copy of the first one, or they hate a sequel because it's not exactly like the first one. I think that Live Free or Die Hard is a great movie, tons of fun for an exciting, explosive action film, and it offers quite a bit that no other movie can give you.

100% agree this is underrated. I love the casting of the good guys. The main reason it's not my favorite is that while Olyphant is kinda creepy, he's just not on the same level as Alan Rickman or Jeremy Irons and none of the other bad guys really stand out on their own aside from some cool fighting moves. Look how much personality Katya had in 3 and she didn't have a single line. Btw, love Olyphant as a good guy! Justified was awesome, and he was incredibly funny in Santa Clarita Diet, so much fun.

14:04 Fun Fact: Shearing off a fire hydrant like that RARELY causes the water to start spewing. The way a hydrant works is there is a hard rubber seal BELOW the hydrant that is kept in place by the pressure of the water. When the fire dept needs to use the hydrant, the attach the hose and turn the large bolt on the top of the hydrant. Turning that bolts causes a rod to be threaded DOWN opening the seal...which allows the water to start flowing INTO the hydrant and in turn, into the hoses. Therefore, if a hydrant was sheared off, there would be no rod to push the seal down, allowing the water to start spewing...it would basically be a permanent sealed unit until the city got there to replace the hydrant.

The whole thing about Bruce Willis and his character of John McClane is that he was an everyman. Die Hard came on the scene when Action heroes in movies were out of this world, well-trained assassins or special forces near Superheroes like Arnold Schwarzenegger as Conan, The Terminator, and his many other action films, or like Stallone as Rambo. Bruce comes along and is just a regular beat cop from New York City who happened to get into situations where he stepped up to be the 'Super' hero. This had never really been tried to such success before, and it launched a lot of other films like it, one of the latest starring Bob Odenkirk in Nobody.

27:43 Did you notice that right after the hub exploded, the computer screen on the bad guys' end read "Connection FAILD", yes FAILD, That computer needs to refresh itself and take an English class. LOL

if you are not opposed to a series of Bruce Willis, I recommend Moonlighting from 1985. It is a prime form Bruce with comedy and detective stuff. Also recommend 16 Blocks and Looper.

Good Afternoon, Jen🤩and THANK YOU for finally sharing this one with all of us!💝Mom and I have always Enjoyed this 4th "Die Hard" Movie so much, almost as much as all of the previous ones too!👍Since You'd Asked, "YES" there is a 5th Movie but "NO"🤐I would NEVER Recommend that one to You, and I don't think anyone else would either!👎 Fun-Fact: the Villain here is played by Timothy Olyphant, whom I absolutely Love as the Star of My Favorite TV Series: "Justified!" 🤠👌

I also loved Olyphant in Santa Clarita Diet.

BS. The 5th movie is ok. It's at least better than Die Hard 2. In order of quality, it goes: 1, 3, 4, 5, 2.

This movie’s premise looks intuitive with the current Internet of Things and devices with SoCs, but in 2007 it was absolutely mind blowing, the smartphone era had barely started and everything wasn’t so connected. You can say this movie was ahead of its time. Shame about the PG-13 rating, though.

This was a fun reaction. Loved your giddiness over the helicopter and McLaine jumping on and then off the jet. It is very contagious!

Timothy Olyphant was such a cool villian, this movie is still probably one of the most realistic versions of how to carry out a "Cyber Attack " ..There's actually one more "Die Hard" movie after this..but We don't talk about that one. 🤫🛑

John McClane deals with bad guys in the most satisfying ways possible. Will happily watch all the Die Hards. Thanks for the January pick me up Jen!

The hacker in this movie you have seen before. He was the fan boy in Galaxy Quest. He is also famous for being the hip “Mac” in the Mac vs Pc commercials from 2006-2009 (available on youtube). It was ironic because in this movie (released in 2007) he was using a PC, not a Mac.

Happy you watched this. This is an underloved part of the franchise. They make McLane into Captain America in this so it’s a little on the far-fetched side, but I really like this one honestly. It’s my 2nd favorite after 1, then comes 3 and 2.

I think the reason its underrated is that its a great action film, but not necessarily a great Die Hard film. That is that John has become a largely invincible action hero doing massive stunts and walking away with minimal issue, tropes that the original film was famous for breaking from. This was definitely something already being lost as the films went on, but even With a Vengeance managed to capture the original 'Average guy in a situation spinning out of control' thing despite the increasingly larger than life situation and events they were surviving. (Probably as a result of both him and Zeus being dragged in to the situation unwillingly.)

This is my second favorite "Die Hard" behind the original. It has everything plus a great team up and the best villain since Hans Gruber.
