What I always liked about 1970s artists is that they were unique. They all came up with their own style of music. Most everyone now copies everyone else. Heck, they don't even play any instruments anymore. Joe is always the exception, wish there were more of him.

A most excellent exchange between two players who know their stuff. The mutual reverence and respect is so evident and enjoyable to witness. It's nice that Joe has great questions and can carry on a conversation versus this just being a straight Q&A. Also nice that in addition to Clapton, Peter mentions Peter Green and Mick Taylor a couple times, as they, particularly Taylor, are often overlooked in conversations of this nature. Though Clapton had the higher profile, Green and Taylor certainly enhanced the British blues narrative he started. Joe and Rick Beato have done, IMO, the best Frampton features to date. Wonderful stuff. Thank you.

Somewhere in my collection of VHS tapes I have a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert that a friend taped for me bootlegged off the satellite from sometime in the 90's. Charlie Daniels and Peter were guests. When I was in my early twenties I had an argument with a guy who said Peter Frampton was a better guitarist than Jimmy Page. I scoffed at the idea and denigrated Frampton as lightweight pop fluff . While I still think my argument was correct that Page is better, I fully retract any statement about Frampton lacking credibility. I was an uneducated music snob in those days, and I now know what Frampton has achieved in music. He is, and was the real deal top echelon guitar player and a fine singer. Total respect.
