Agree on the analysis. At the end of the day what stood out was how humble they both were. No jumping up and down, no chest thumping, no wild celebrations like our cricketers do after taking a tail ender's wicket. They both seemed proud of each other's achievement. Arshad kept referring to Neeraj as "Bhai" at the post match interview. Respect

This was my first time watching them both. To me on physical appearance Neeraj looked like a football player, while Arshad looked like a neanderthal. While the others fell on the floor after throwing the javelin, Arshad stood upright. Once could see his pure brute strength. That's one strong bloke.

@UmarMunir94
@UmarMunir94 4 ай бұрын
Yes. If he can throw a 91m+ on his last throw when all the others were pretty much gassed, and throws 90+ often, then there is a good chance of them reaching 95. 2 out of 6 were 90+ so 95 is sounding like a potential possibility. That depends on his potential physical limit. Keep in mind that he is also aging and the next Olympics are 4 years away.

It was a contest between raw talent and refined, mechanical skill. Pakistan has always been a country that nurtures rustic, natural talent, whether in cricket, other individual sports, or even singing. Arshad now has the potential to dominate for a while, especially as he will soon have access to top-tier facilities. That said, Neeraj will need to focus heavily on enhancing his power and ensuring his longevity in the sport.

The current world record for the men’s javelin throw is 98.48 meters, set by Jan Železný of the Czech Republic on May 25, 1996. This record was made with the “new” style javelin, which was introduced in 1986 when the center of gravity was moved forward to reduce throwing distances and ensure the javelin landed tip-first.

The Gold medal winner Arshads achievement is huge as he had to challenges his own personal circumstances to even make it to the games while other competitors were well taken care of by their representative asociations. I believe the spirit of Olympics and the sport of Javelin is the real winner to make such people who frustratingly struggle to reach the highest podium in sport and if they reacch that highest podium against all odds just like Arshad did, it show how unfair and cruel this world is and such champions really show and inspire other underprivileged giving them the hope that YES they also can when one of their own kind conquered all limitation to become not just the Olympic medal winnwe but the best of best medals the GOLD. ...Hats of to such an individual who himself made it unbelievably the very best and special day of his LIFE....Arshad a true sportsman in the true Olympian spirit

Arshad throw angle was 31degree whereas it is said to throw at 45degree. Playing by techniques everytime may not be optimal and neeraj always play with techniques therefore he might not be able to cross more than 90m. He should try other angle of throwing javelin and also try to gain some weight mainly muscle mass and increase his size and bodyweight which could help him improve in his throw. You can see Arshad technique doesn't look great though he is throwing great that might be because of his big size.
@aurobindodebnath4011
@aurobindodebnath4011 4 ай бұрын
45 degrees is the best angle if you throw in vaccuum. You have to take into account air friction because of which 31-32 is nearly ideal or close to ideal angle for throws. All the atheles are throwing around the angle so they know all the science after years of being into it and experience.

First of all stop this mediocrity and depending on one athlete. India should spend more funds on different athletes, give them world class training and aim to win at least 8-9 golds medals in Olympics 2028 to finish in top 10 out of 205 countries. India has that potential if athletes don't choke in pressure situation. Focus more on swimming, cycling which contains 60+ events.

@@Iamshubhamsharma8 I totally agree .. lot of other track and field records are broken at this yr in paris, because the track is fast. People may not remember even Vetter couldn't throw his best in tokyo which was above 90m. Vetter has thrown above 90m more often but since then he has been facing injuries. NOw am not an expert I may be wrong. IF you are stressing your body to reach it's peak potential more often, you are more likely to invite injuries. The best thing about Neeraj is he isn't abusing his body .. his progression in throws has been very consistent, from 86 to 87 to 88 to 89 point something, he is very close achieving 90m and slowly steadily he will be consistent in above 90m. Consistency can make you lambi race ka ghoda. I would say he has already achieved soo much but idiots are worried about ary gold chalagaya, OR ban gaya and not looking at what neeraj has achieved. Suddenly ppl are talking about h is jumping and walking kar raha gir raha, that's what his technique has been in last olympics. No, 98 m record was made in 1996, and Javelin change was in 1986 before that longest throw was 104 m. So this world record is as per new regulations.

Look at Arshad height which is about 6 feet 4 inches. He is very strong, muscular and a powerful man. I believe he can throw 95 meters or beyond that mark throw in the future. I wish him all the very best 🎉 I also wish Neeraj best of luck 🤞 next time and he is also a very good athlete 🎉

Carl Lewis, USA who was and still is the GOAT of the long jump event. In the 1991 Tokyo world Championships his distances were 8.68, 8.83, 8.91, 8.87 , he still lost to Mike Powell, USA @ 8.95, which still stands from 1991. The altitude assisted previous world revord from 1968 was 8.9. The winner of this Olympics : 8.48m. But Nadeem has 2 throws over 90m which was remarkable. But the Javelin finals with 89.45, 88.54 respectively was remarkable.

Very good analysis. Neeraj was already exposed to world class facilities but arshad wasnt. Therefore neeraj already met his peak which is 89 meters. But arshad without anything throwing 85 meters but when he was exposed to world class facilties and coaches, he is gradually going past whatever he has thrown in past.

Johannes Vetter threw 97.76 Metres in 2020. Anderson Peters threw 93.07 Metres in 2022. Jan Zelezny also holds the World Record of 98.48 Metres with the new form of Javelin only. The old form of Javelin used to see over 100-metre throws.

The 98.48m record is in an "Open Stadium" with "legal tailwind". To replicate it, the same conditions must be given. To me, 97.76m is the real record in a "Closed Stadium" by Johannes Vetter.

What really concerns me is that why neeraj had only one valid throw. it was such a big risk. What if all his six throws were not valid he would have been last. At least he should have maintained a safety net. In the end it turned out to be a huge risk he was taking because of which he was fouling most. Hope he can sustain his consistency and minimize his fouls to bare minimum and not ride such high risk. He need to take psychologically training to ensure that his focus and motivation should stay at the highest always which would have ensure most valid throws very closer to his season best or more

I am asking the same thing but i know he was not in the form. He didn't figure the running step leading to the throw. We miss that old neeraj where he is satisfied with the throw. That scream of joy after a good throw. That was a bad day and not a good performance.

under current regulations johannes vetter of germany has the record of 97 metres , he is the man who has thrown 90+ throws 27 times , he was injured , if he had been in the field fullly fit then others would be competing for silver most probabaly. he is 31 years now so 2028 olympics it would be difficult for him to qualify for it
