You guys are talking like Durant took a bunch of wide open shots and missed. He had a bad game cause the Celtics defense was all freaken over him. All those turnovers we guys slapping at the ball and double teaming him.It was a good all around team effort on guarding Durant. Including those awesome blocks.

As a Celtics fan, this is THE BEST game that BCs under IU have ever played this NBA season. I knew that my favorite team is better than any other team in the East even without RobWill. The very core of the team is rigidly intact having Smart, JBrown, JTatum, Horford, GrantWill, RobWill, Pritchard, Nesmith, etc around. The 3 key reasons I ever wanted the team will use to win against bigwigs were manifested here in G1. (1) MATURITY of IU as veteran coach (he's not a rookie). (He never won any "down-the-wire" games. Looking back in the last few weeks, they lost those supposedly won games against the Raptors, Heat, and Bucks which could have catapulted them as seed no. 1 going to the playoffs. I knew Boston can do it but IU seemingly played safe in his last few games trying to pick the team they want to face in the playoffs, preferably Bulls, but came in full-force to beat Grizzlies without JaMor & other key players to steal no. 2 seed to avoid Nets. Now, he cannot avoid the Nets.) (2) MarSmart CANNOT PLAY a hero ball like he did against Raptors and Heat. He can't play a hero in close games. IU believes him but should not let him do that. (He has to mature and understand he's the point guard. He should dictate and pivot the plays to look for the open man. He lives to my expectation here in G1 of the playoffs. With his great fake plus sharing the ball to the open man resulted into a convincing win... that's an epitome of a great unselfish point guard. He should not force shots in a real close games.) (3) RobWill is really an important piece missing recently but BCs can still win games without him if IU will try rejecting his GUTS and instill COURAGE to himself and came out well prepared in any games whoever they face. (Boston is the better team in the East, the team and IU shouldn't murmur and complain, like those pretending "basketball geniuses", that Boston lost its chance to reach the Eastern Finals.) If BCs will continue to play with COURAGE against the GUTSY BNs... then COURAGE is better than GUTS as game plan.

@DauntlessDeonte59912 жыл бұрын
I need a video editor to go back in this game and find that sequence when Irving threw the ball away to Smart. Right before that at the FT line,,, Irving was arguing with a fan and said “S my D.” Durant immediately switched positions with him on the lane… as they passed each other, Irving slapped Durant’s hand away and then they had a mini stare off. Kyrie then inbounded the ball and everybody ran away from him it looked purposely like you do everything by yourself and see how it turns out.

@hollowmenrule2 жыл бұрын
Kevin Durant is coming, if he plays a better game Kyrie will not need to score as much. The thing that's going to decide it for Brooklyn is there supporting lineup showing up it's going to take very little extra points from the other guys, say 30 40 points from three of their other players then all you need is Kyrie and Kevin to score 30 or one of them to score 40 and the other person score less and you're talking pretty much a win. I think the Celtics have gained some momentum so I think they're going to be really good but it's going to be a really tough series
@kbthegoat8242 жыл бұрын
I'll be back on this channel when the nets win.
@hollowmenrule2 жыл бұрын
It's going to be a tough series as excalibrini said the Celtics stole this game and it's great that they want it, Kyrie is always going to be some level of good even if he doesn't score 39 points, Kevin Durant is going to be better than what he was even if he doesn't score 50 you still have two very good scores to play a series against all it takes both of them to score 30 and that's going to make it tough for the Celtics because then you're going to need jaylen brown, Marcus Smart you're going to need these guys to get career highs to compete with the points that Brooklyn's going to put up
@icecoldtruth34782 жыл бұрын
Grant williams isn't going to miss that many open 3's, Theis won't miss that many put back layups, we consistently got better shots and just missed them. Also those refs were attrocious

That’s what I’m saying like my non Celtics fan friends are like u need Horford and smart to drop 20 like white can get 14 and grant gets 12 then they both get 15 15 that’s more then enough and Pritchard to get more also

You let Kyrie go off over KD because of the defensive difference. If Kyrie is scoring, he has to stay on the floor, and that’s one fewer person over 6’6.
@LeominsterFC2 жыл бұрын
Good take. Plus he’s so selfish eventually he makes it all about himself. At the end, I don’t care if Kyrie has the hot hand, I give the ball to KD 1 on 1 for ball game. He dribbled for 19 seconds and gives KD a hospital pass to bail himself out. He wanted the dagger and instead lost his team the game. Why not attack and get fouled? You shoot 90% from FT. He wanted the glory, fuck Kyrie.

Celtics starters outplayed the Nets starters. Really the bench battle, assumed to be a strength for the C's, went heavily in the Nets favor. Grant Williams was not good, -17, missed all his threes. He's a guy who tends to overthink so I hope this doesn't carry over for him. The Nets can hardly expect that level of play from Dragic and Claxton. It'll be a dogfight though.
