What are you basing your stand on?? Have they don’t anything for the country as of yet? Or are you just in support of them due to the speech that jamus gave. Politics is a game of deception, people like jamus knows how to utilise their language ability to win over votes, and get people just get swayed over without considering the situation from the objective view. What if their all talk and no action? Jamus could be an arrogant elitist and nobody would ever know from the front he put out. It was not a wise choice to displace 3 ministers from the PAP that have been doing things from the country. Whatever the government does, there is always criticism, people are always unhappy when it touches their wallets, and yet some policies are necessary. Although the PAP has made mistakes, we wouldn’t be where we are today without them. Do you really believe in a other parties ruling Singapore? Or a 5050 government like the US where both parties just fight among each other for the sake of themselves and not the country?

In days when Singapore is a slump... LKY, with a iron heart, rallied a team of good people to build SG from an unknown dot in world map to a nation that boasts one of the highest GDP in the world. Back then, many SG people are not well off and all work together with the govt to provide all a safety net even though we have zero resources. And the team that manage SG create jobs and build up education and housing system to provide the basic needs every SG needs. 54 years later, we have younger generation of leaders moving up to take over those assets build by our forefather. We wish you will continue to preserve our nation integrity and prosperity for many generations to come.....Good Luck to all elected members.

@@fattboy3542 Appreciate for your feedback. Please observe the democracy value practise in the West that respect voters' choice and voice. They are declining in power as voters are rapidly sandwich between both ruling and opposition parties arguing and debating conflicting issues that halted major national development. No one ruling party or even opposition can come to a common ground should there are too many checks and balances prevail. A nation progresses need to innovate and change quickly to strategise for national interest first. If national interest is not taken into consideration, how would the voters' interest be obliged. Voters, young and old, should be fully aware and understand the global changes & challenges faced by our leaders. The western democracy value, due to pressures faced by the voters, are facing financial issues as their National reserves are gradually depleted, and no party will ever admit to the voters the financial difficulties the nation faced. To seek that social & pension funds be cut, that'll be the last straw for the ruling party.... I do hope we, Singaporean, shall not faced that crisis in many years to come simply too many voices are heard and acted to please all simply to win the votes.

I dont agree with retrenching the people seated in parliament. Instead we should maintain their salary cap so to maintain the corruption net. The high salary is a small cost to pay as it also justify the more they will need to do for people and make policies in the right direction. No policies comes without a trade offs, what kind of trade offs should be compromise must be discuss. GST doesnt work like this, we need to be frugal in our physical infrastructure spendings and maintain the existing ones. The more u build , the more u have to find source of funds to maintain it, maintaining it also requires more civil services as well apart from contracts. The GST increase would nontheless affect daily necessities as well as future business contracts as the SMEs swim against the tidal of global competitions and foreign companies within the country.

Remember, it is the people who have empowered our govt with a full and strong mandate. So whatever the govt decides or does, it is already endorsed by the people. This is what our people fail to understand that given a 2/3 majority (votes) the govt is strongly/fully mandated and oppo can only object aimlessly but they are not empowered to stop the governing party. If oppo has 1/3 majority, the situation would be different but this has never been the case because oppo has never ever won a 1/3 majority. Why dont we just migrate if we dont like what the country has become, theres no point whining
@yeos61694 жыл бұрын
CloudySnow that’s the singled handily dumbest suggestion i have heard. Just to migrate because of “what the country has become”? Well, u forgot a country is made up of their citizens, singapore got here today not only because of the parliament alone, it is also through the utmost hard-work of our pioneer/previous generations. To “ not whine” is simply asking one to give up what they have been fighting for thus far. I acknowledge pap is good and strong but it’s clearly not working in favor of the citizens anymore

Progressive Nation must not be build on legacy alone. The nation must appreciate the spirit of nation building and struggles by the leaders of both side ruling party or oppositions. Comparison is good, ultimately, we should know and formulate what we want for our heritage, social values , demographics are different. On a final note, i dont think anybody is voting against ruling parties because of the lack of facilities and infrastructure. 8% increase and 40% on national average should be a whisper becoming noise? Commoners, most of the middle to lower sandwich class obviously had spoken nation wide, it is not just about seng kang alone. It is also not their intention to bring down the ruling party , the intention is clear, they expect PAP to work closely with WP. Young Voters are very observant, yet not oblivion enough to vote blindly, they came from a tech generation in which informations are at fingertips. Ruling party members , congratulations for a good win! But MPs beware, the young voters are observing your work, they are not the older ones which voted you in and let you do your job without questions. So all members of parliament regardless of parties , speak up and do not become a yes man, i do believe voters will appreciate more debates and more action from the members.

Just return the CPF at 55. Those who squander their CPF, send them to some island like Pulau Ubin, St John Island or Tekong and leave them there to do hard labour to earn their own food. Let’s take a look at the election 1. It is done during a vulnerable period (Covid-19) where the opposition party has no way of showing their capabilities to manage the crisis. 2. The extension of time for the results to be announced where every Singaporean’s are allocated a time to vote and there were instances that some timing may have more voters which could have been the main cause of extension. 3. Permanent residence if eligible for any reasons should not be counted in voting as it would be more fair if Singaporeans with pink IC to cast their votes. 4. Scare tactics which are used towards individuals in the government sector to vote for PAP as their vote may cause downfall in their career. 5. Voting are not secret as there is a serial number towards each person voting where it could easily be traced. 6. A stamp “x” which could have cause people to think that “x” means the party which you do not want to elect. They could have use other symbols.
