Omg as a Dutch person watching this had me cracking up. I can’t believe they put Italy/Greece and HOLLAND in 1 video. And when she said no more saturdays at the mall.. HAHHA in Holland it rains all the time and the weather is awfull. Also the people are not inviting and foodculture is non existent. However, jobs, salaries, work life balance, pension, infrastructure etc. are very good here. But My God, Toscany, Krete and ARNHEM? I could have never imagned that

Cute couple. I actually have that same type of floor from the Italian house here in Puerto Rico. Very durable. Well, I ended up trading my Illinois dwelling for a house in the mountains in the countryside of Puerto Rico I bought a lovely three bedroom house with land for only $65,000! And I totally love it.

Second person who commented that about this, your comment actually proves it’s a small island to me. Being able drive across it in one day is the definition of small. It takes 9 hours to drive from northern Florida to southern Florida, and that is the same state. Not to forget to mention that Americans drive 80-90 MILES per hour on average while making that trip. Everything must be relative.

This is a TERRIBLE idea ... "let's go buy real estate in a country where we don't speak the language, and the culture is one of bribing gov't officials to get anything done." I've lived in Greece. It's a wonderful place to live if you are not part of the "local system". So long as you get your income from abroad and live like a tourist, you'll love life there. The minute you need to get anything done at the gov't or bank level, forget it. Be prepared for incompetence and in your face rudeness, "how dare you ask me to do my job". Gov't workers in Greece actually get paid a bonus just for showing up to work on time each day! This idea is a nightmare waiting to happen. You've been warned ...

Crete “small island” *facepalm 🤦🏻‍♀️

It’s cute that European think it’s not small. Lol, I could fit 3.5 Cretes in my State, and it’s considered a small state.

@@AJHickmanFamily I understand. But it’s kinda funny to call the biggest Greek Island, & fifth biggest in Europe “a small island” or compare it to the state. I would never called for ex.: Puerto Rico “a small island” 🤷🏻‍♀️

I apologize if I offended you. We are moving to Crete in December. We currently live in Tokyo area, some of the Prefectures of Japan are roughly the same size as Crete. Only thing is that Tokyo is most densely populated city in the world. My home town, part of the Atlanta Georgia Metro Area has 6 million people. Crete has 488k. Been to Puerto Rico, and also consider it to be small. Maybe “small island” isn’t what men’s when we say that, as we mean small town-ish in comparison to what we know. My wife is from Cebu Philippines and it is roughly half of Crete, which is physically small, but very densely populated. We are very excited to be moving away from the busy, big and jam packed world for Crete. It sounds like Paradise.

What is the point of this show? They don’t visit any of the locations. Very fake!

These kind of shows are just real estate ads. The 'buyers', 'flippers' and 'renovators' have already done everything, these shows pay them to fake it so they can show off what's on the market..

I don't get it. USA is great country with stunning landscapes, nature, friendly small communities... Why would you like to move to Europe and make a rollercoaster of your life... Especially if you need to adapt to a completely different culture, way of living...

At the beginning of the show they said they both had recent health issues. Good time to take a chance & they are young. Visa's, jobs, locations... just go with your heart! If it doesn't work, put a 4 sale sign in window & move back! You don't get Do-Overs ... the presenter guy in the background is annoying & takes away from show :( I wish this cute couple a nice life!

Because it's a bargain . You can buy a good property full of potential such as renting it to tourists . Greece has indeed many financial issues but also has beautiful landscapes , friendly people and a lot of history . So if your intention is not to work in Greece and especially if you have a backup of money then you have plenty of reasons to buy a property in Greece . It is simple as that 🤷
