Hey! 👋 eye doctor here. sorry to hear the eye strain is bothering you. Staring at the screen for long periods of time can put stress on your internal eye muscles as well as your external eye muscles. We also tend to not blink as often or as completely when using a screen. A new study just confirmed gamers develop dry eye at a high rate. The fluctuations in your eyeglasses prescription can occur for multiple reasons, it is even possible that you had developed pseudomyopia in the past from overfocusing your eyes on near objects and screens. Astigmatism can make your vision blurry at all distances (both near and far) so glasses/contacts can help with that. I’m curious if you were dilated for this exam? Perhaps eyeglasses with prism would help you with your focusing/ eye strain? If you are ever in Minnesota USA, I can guarantee you the most comprehensive eye exam you can find. Hope you feel better ✌️ Nevus of Ota is also pretty cool.

As an eye technician If you were over corrected you basically compensated for the astigmatism it's called a "spherical equivalent" and we do it when prescribing some contacts.. Also if you're noticing some blurriness in your vision with the toric contacts I would bring it up to your doctor because the contacts may need to be changed if it's not centering correctly in your eyes since they're weighted to correct the astigmatism! This! I got new glasses just after the new year from a new Optometrist (past one retired) and my vision was blurrier with the new glasses and found out I had been given the wrong prescription. Mistakes happen, if your vision is worse after a day or it worsens your headaches, go back in Gab!

I have always been told by my uncle (an eye doctor) that you should make sure that the doctor I am seeing is an optometrist or an opthemologist. An optometrist can diagnose if you need glasses or not, but they don't have as much schooling. Also, when getting an eye exam I always have to remind myself not to try and force seeing if A or B is better or reading the chart. Don't guess, if you cannot see it then tell them.

Opthomologists in my country don't do glasses prescriptions anymore. But agreed. 10 years ago when I got my prescriptions from a actual doctor they were noticeably better.

The charts always mess me up because everything is always a little blurry once i switch eyes. I always have to have them run the slide multiple times to make sure the blur is real vs from being covered up

I don't know if cat diabetes is the same as human diabetes but if BB's bloodsugar is not going down it could be stress or illness. Some people even need more insulin when they're on their period! Bloodsugar is a very finnicky thing but the good thing is that it usually evens out again when you feel better, maybe something to ask the vet about ofc as I'm only a human type 1 diabetic!!!

I have to agree about oath.Bringer, I read the original 2 from a while back when they first came out and was on hold for preordering Oath bringer. Although I had a hard time, to be the relative slow speed of the flashbacks. It was still a good book, but I do like the first 2 a bit more. I happen to love the world that Sanderson created in the series. I also happen to really enjoy his telling of Robert Jordan's last few books that he helped finish along with assistance from jordan's exceptional wife.

As someone who in the last couple years has had more experiences with nightmares and terrors, and in the last several months having it turn completely unhinged enough that I am afraid of sleeping sometimes- - dreams can become so horrific when you literally cannot wake up without feeling the distress lingering over what is reality. I have a good handle on it but a lot of people don't. Reminded me so heavily of this game, going down level after level inside of your dreams and real memories until things begin getting just completely off the rails in this terrorizing way of twisting those memories of reality- - only to suddenly wake up in a cold sweat, not knowing what you've been or who you should be, and having to just let it seep back in on its own.

I have astigmatism in both eyes as well as near sightedness. My most recent exam a month ago one of my eyes got slightly better but the other worse? It’s funny how it works, I was told astigmatism can also shift/change in your eyes and that all plays a part. Biggest things stressed to me were having adequate lighting at night, wear your glasses and rest your eyes enough!

If you get headaches from the glasses see a different Dr and mention it. I have to wear contacts pretty much solely because my eyes can't adjust to the distance between the eyes, the glasses lens and beyond well. I'm not the only person with this issue and it is actually why I can't drive some cars due to the angle of their windshield. As for reading I have a crazy astigmatism so I get glowing stuff around lines (letter especially) without the proper rx contacts. This is less of an issue with print books though. So if you are getting strain reading digital books find a good paperback copy to curl up with. :) Hang in there and thank you for streaming more indy games, I play them in on a monitor while I draw on another. :)

Rule of thumb: For Tylenol/acetaminophen/paracetamol use in adults, maximum of 4 grams (4000 mg) in a 24 hour period. Normal strength tablets are usually 325mg (so max 12 a day, usually 3 every six hours) extra strength typically 500mg (8 a day, 2 every six hours). The biggest overdose risk is that acetaminophen is in a lot of other medications (like Lemsip, just as you said -- that's acetaminophen and phenylephrine). Acetaminophen overdose really damages the liver, and then toxic metabolites (NAPQI I think is the main problem? A long chemistry word xD It's highly reactive) can overwhelm the kidneys as well.

I have had exactly the same experience as you. Went from minus 2 to minus 0.5. As we get older we pretty much all gravitate that way (struggling to see up-close) and end up needing reading glasses :-( . I find the anti-glare helps me a lot in my screen glasses, and they are what they call here 'interview glasses' which are designed for mid-distances. I have to wear or I get eye strain from screen use. Also the complete GAME-CHANGER for me was moisturising eye drops which I use about 6 times a day and are on my desk. Per @DoctorEyeHealth comment, screen use leads to dry eyes as you blink less. I bet you a channel subscription that if you start using moisturising eye drops you will see a huge improvement in days ;-)

I know a lot of people have suggested things for BBs situation. I also had two diabetic kitties and both steadily become insuling resistant. We had to steadily up their insulin amount over time to keep up with it, it may just be that she needs a .5 increase in her insulin amount to keep up with the resistance. It could also be diet. Watch her kidney values as well, as diabetes is VERY hard on that, especially the vet recommended diets for handling that condition, and often they don't watch the kidney values often enough and it creeps up on you - but the kidneys are actually very managable along with the diabetes so long as you know to watch both carefully. Best of love you are your kitty queen.❤

I just went through the same thing! It's crazy how much your eyes compensate and once you start to notice your eyes just start to hurt and the migraines get real. I also feel the variable advice from doctors. Went and got a prescription, got my glasses and was like woah this is bad. Went back, got a completely different prescription. My dots were trippy as heck too! Waiting on my new glasses too, hoping it helps!

I agree that for long movies they should bring back intermission, at least at movie theaters. Long story short, my very first opera I ever attended was Elektra, and beforehand we had wine, but I downed mine because the show was starting (dumb idea) it was special because it was bought for me by someone old enough, anyway it was terrible about halfway through and I couldn't hold it any longer and so I had to leave riiiight when Elektra broke out into her ecstatic dance -disturbed everyone as I left- and it was playing on speakerphones throughout the theater so I could hear it in the bathroom and I just remember thinking how it was funny that her ecstatic crescendo matched up perfectly with my ..release! (ahhh, my feelings exactly) Lol. sry long comment. :)

I got glasses after I turned 30. Im nearsighted, and until I got my glasses I never realised how badly I was seeing. My prescription isnt high, its pretty mild, but its still enough that everything thats at a certain distance and further is super blurry, which includes my Tv which is not even that far away. When I got my glasses it literally changed everything, I had no idea I was supposed to see that clearly and that I was supposed to be able to see details properly 😅

Gab if you're enjoying reading Sanderson, Mistborn 1,2 and 3 are what got me back into loving fantasy, and John Gwynn's 'The faithful and the fallen' quad is an amazing epic fantasy of 'the chosen one/good vs evil trope payed out with magic and medeval combat, and the character work is sublime. I just went down in prescription as well for eyes, my optometrist told me that as we get older our eyes fluctuate up and down with the amount of strain that we are doing to see something. I was on Jr high before they knew I needed glasses... and my vision was BAD! It wasn't until menopause that my vision "stabalized" for myopia (near sighted) and my bad astigmatism. Worse, and worse. I am "bat level". Then... age. I started losing my near field vision, BUT my extended vision stabilized. So now... if I wear contacts, I need glasses to read. If I wear glasses, I need to take them off to read. And before y'all tell me about bifocals, I can't use them. The astigmatism are bad, and I am physically disabled, on the sidewalks of New Orleans... so... the distortions are detrimental. Gurl... I feel your headaches. They are not so much as a total eye strain ... but more of one eye trying to compensate for the other. This causes the muscles to tense... thus the headaches. Any time you get consistent headaches, PLEASE see your eye professional! ... or drink more water. But that's a different topic! 😉👍

I just realized, when gab goes back to get another ending. Liam says, have I used this machine before. RE the moving around a lot, i have woken up from fucked upp dreams and not known where the door is bscause of it. Even walked smack into a wardrobe once, and fell over a low wall that wasnt there in the house my brain thought i was in 😅 also, what you were saying about him taking pain killers more often than he thought he was, I've done that too. I had to make myself a chart cos I live alone and was so out of it from the pain and the codeine, and then you factor in that codeine causes a headache on withdrawal that I was then also taking pain killers for. Happy to be healed and pain free ahah.
