Our country's pretty torn these days, and the news doesn't help by chasing drama instead of real stories. Politics has turned into a shouting match, with feelings trumping facts about what policies actually do. Leaders are quick to point fingers at others to cover up their own mess-ups. Look at Trump - the January 6th thing was a huge deal. Harris is taking heat for border issues and not really connecting with people. Walz got in hot water over how he handled things in Minnesota during the riots. Even J.D. Vance isn't off the hook - he said something about "childless cat ladies" and now it's all anyone talks about, because we're all about catchy phrases that get people riled up. Vance's slip-up might seem tamer compared to the others, since his words didn't lead to actual harm like some of the bigger incidents did. But in today's world, every little thing a politician says or does gets put under a microscope.

In California some of the victims of the immigration policy were friends of mine. I spent a great deal of time in the Northern California area often explaining to persons who spoke very little English the correct way to enter into our country. I encouraged them to also spread the word. Unfortunately, those women were truly scared. As a voter that is the best I could do. I am angered now because explaining the process of becoming a citizen was never my job, but because I am a decent person I did, Filling a very important funding gap in our budget. This knowledge should be taught at the local level were ever they are coming from. Two wrongs don't make it right.
