Not giving my age away, but I remember the old Starways Dakotas flying in and out of Liverpool.

So do I ,I used to live near hunts cross circa 1963 - 1965 & often watch them from the balcony of the original & proper Liverpool airport . I believe the MD of Starways lived in a large house down the road from Woolton village . I also remember the British Eagle viscounts ,Britannia’s & One eleven jets . Cambrian Airways viscounts , Aer Lingus Fokker friendships ,viscounts & later 737 200 ‘s & new runway ,which is now the existing runway being used , & planes taking ages to taxi behind Speke hall to use it . 👍

We’ve flown jet2 Manchester for 10 years plus……we’re local to Speke but 4 now sadly not using jet2 cos the departure times are poor 4 us

Jet2 soon to be taking holidays for 2026 ( hasn’t been announced yet but colleagues I work with at jet2 at Liverpool already mentioning it)

These modern 737 ‘s are about twice the length of the original proper Boeing 737’s . Can’t blame them for changing to Airbus ,as the modern Boeings are dodgy & prone to becoming giant lawn darts with loads of safety issues . Boeing have wrecked the 737 by being greedy overstretching what was a good airliner , in the quest for the almighty dollar .
