It depends on what matters most to you. For instance, if you want AWD, the Sportage is the only choice, if mileage matters, or you want something just a little smaller, the Niro is the winner. There are all kinds of little decisions similar to these that you’ll have to go over for yourself to decide which one is best for you.

How much space is on rear seats for 3 adults in Niro and Sportage?

I'm not sure how you want me to measure this. I find that both are comfortable for 3, but the third person can't be much bigger than me, and it would depend on how long the third person wanted to sit in that seat. As with any 5 passenger vehicle, the middle rear seat isn't usually something that I recommend for a permanent seat. If you have 5 people, I encourage people to look at a 7 passenger vehicle. Having said that the Niro or Sportage are going to be a little larger than the Seltos, Forte, Rio, and others for middle seat space.

Niro is not a Crossover! Stop confusing people.

I'm not confusing people. This is how the vehicle is classified by many organizations and Kia refers to it that way in their own marketing material. Personally, I think classifications are silly. If someone wants to call something an SUV or a Crossover, I'm fine with that. I drive a Hyundai Santa Cruz... is that a pickup truck? a Crossover? An SUV with a bed? A car? Does it matter? Not to me.
