3rd ain't a bad place to be. Nice going. Especially as you beat Jamie Hughes. He's a tough nut to crack. Katie is such s gem, I don't think you're old enough to remember, but in the 70's and early 80's, there was a commercial on TV, I don't recall the products, but a little girl was there, and her line was "My mummy says 'I'm going to be a proper little madam when I grow up'", sitting there loaded with pride, really pleased with herself. That's who Katie reminds me of. So sweet. Any way, well done mate. TTFN.

Thanks, I find starting a new short swim very late can be effective this time of year on lots of venues, so I feed a main one early then fire up the other one late if things aren't working out 👍

Top video again mate,do you use a power bank for you go pro?can you tell me which one cause I haven't found any which say compatible for go pro,cheers
@JonArthur3 жыл бұрын
I have a few power banks but usually don't hook them up during a match. Instead I actually turn them on and off and might have to do a mid-match battery swap. That'll surprise a LOT of people!
@MARCLEEMATCHFISHING3 жыл бұрын
@@JonArthur Yeah that does surprise me,I can do the chest cam fast but it's the other one I want to put either on a margin float view or just a side view for different prospective,tried using remote but have found the wifi kills battery almost as quick!! Thanks for taking time to respond,much appreciated.

Another fantastic video Jon, the noise from that aerator would have sent me bonkers going all day. Could I ask a question off subject. I don't thing I've ever seen you use and type of liquid bait additives while fishing pellets, do you or are you a firm believer against. Thanks Malc.
@JonArthur3 жыл бұрын
I mess about with additives a lot but generally on bigger venues targeted by specimen anglers and if its very coloured water.
@iainclark62103 жыл бұрын
Really enjoyed that John thanks for sharing. Any thoughts on why at the end your new short right hand swim was more productive than the swim you primed all day?
@JonArthur3 жыл бұрын
I think because it's a totally clean area and the fish are ready to come in close but sometimes wary of a swim that's been fed all day, or the bottom has been disturbed too much.
@leeguilford33303 жыл бұрын

@frankhurley96843 жыл бұрын
Hi John, Frank from Liverpool, I am a part time angler John and 64 with health issues which prevent me from getting on the bank as often as I would like. Could you clear up something which still baffles me to date, that us, what is an F1, back in my day it was perch,pike, roach, Rudd , bream tench, crucian carp.
@MIlManMatty3 жыл бұрын
F1,s are a mix of common carp and crucian carp, they grow faster than regular carp species. Hope that helps mate, tight lines 👍 Ps to tell the difference f1,s have 2 barbules compared to 4 on normal carp.
@JonArthur3 жыл бұрын
F1 means First generation hybrid, and applies to anything from plants to animals and of course fish. Usually it's a crucian carp and common carp hybrid. They are slow growing and feed throughout the winter and can be distinguished as they only have a couple of little nodules if anything at all, whereas a proper common carp will have full-grown barbules.
@stephenpyner41563 жыл бұрын
Congrats on your section win and third overall Jon, when fishing the maggot feeder how short would you go on the hook length
@JonArthur3 жыл бұрын
Down to 8in at times, but 12-15in seems optimum.

Is there any golden rule regarding which angler can fish against the platform between you? Or If you see the next door angler getting a few there could you drop your float and rig two inches from his to start catching???As long as it is exactly half way? I once fished a match where I baited up by a bush between us and when I started catching in the last hour he dropped in right next door to me!!!! Grrrrrr.
@JonArthur3 жыл бұрын
Some venues only allow you to fish to one side, but I don't think that rule is necessary anywhere I go. It is normally halfway to the next angler or the next platform leg (so the platform width is ample free space between you both). I would ALWAYS try and strike up an agreement with the next angler where you can each fish and try and give each other a metre space or more. I have sadly seen some selfish idiots try to fish exactly halfway which is poor form really as you just cancel each other out. But I haven't experienced that for a long time as most people have some common sense and decency!
