That is amazing! Thanks for sharing Matt! In a previous video i commented asking if you got any astrophotography time during your trip to chile, well looks like you not only got time but you made the most of it 🙂

Stunning, would love to shoot there again. What lenses did you use?
@MattDieterich2 жыл бұрын
I used a Canon 135mm for some of those Deepscapes and Magellanic Cloud images. Then a Sony 50mm for the timelapse.

There are extra hoops to go through, but nothing too difficult.

How does one hold focus for shooting flats with a 24 mm lens? Thx
@MattDieterich2 жыл бұрын
You can just keep it roughly focused at where you captured your light frames at.

OMG, it's so beautiful! I would love to do the same. I built a camera motorized slider and I like to try it on milky way! WOW, falling star at 1:40!

Awe inspiring to watch Galaxy Rise every night there ! . . . Color correction & realism must be a real bear though ?

The skies there are so beautiful, especially when the Milky Way rises over the mountains!

Quick question: which is better - Chile, or Death Valley for Astro Imaging?
@MattDieterich2 жыл бұрын
Chile in my opinion because of the higher altitude and little to no light pollution. The Southern Hemisphere skies are surreal as well. Death Valley is still an amazing spot for astro!

1:05 is this how you saw the milky way with your eyes?
@MattDieterich2 жыл бұрын
That is straight video out of my Sony A7Siii camera, but it a little brighter than what I saw with my eyes. It is very close though and the Milky Way is impressive from that location in Chile.
