Most DUIs are this way. The officer is convinced you're impaired before they even make contact with the person (i.e. talking), and there is nothing you can do about it. They have all the tools they need to get you under arrest depending on your county/state laws/regulations. Officers rarely are iffy on DUIs, it's pretty much "Yes they're impaired and we will do everything in our power to make sure they get arrested." You're guilty until proven innocent based on this system.

And this ladies and gentlemen is why you NEVER EVER speak to, engage with or interact with police other than what’s REQUIRED under law. This cop blatantly lied and manipulated this kid into a life destroying arrest. He said “I’m not that guy” regarding the kids statement about a cop “arresting him for no reason”... LIE. The cop requested to see his Parkour. The kid complied and then the demonstration was used as evidence against him. Since THC is fat soluble and remains detectable in urine tests for up to 30 days after use, you will be “OUI” even though you’re not under any effects. This cop should serve as a warning to everyone that their only goal is to arrest you at EVERY traffic stop or interaction of any kind. They view civilians as enemies.

Also I know most officers are more cautious when it comes to dui and driving because of how many people are killed not just by drunk driving but from car accidents. A car is essentially a 2 ton missile and go do alot of damage. I think their thought process is like I'd rather someone innocent loose a night and win it in court than let a potentially inebriated person drive free and kill someone. I know it sucks and doesn't seem right but that's just kinda how officer discretion works they get to decide on a case to case basis kinda how they want to proceed
