Please remember that I am NOT a CNC expert, and I cannot help you troubleshoot your CNC router. Every CNC router, controller, and controller software is different. Your best option is to contact your CNC manufacturer’s Tech Support division, or look for a Support Forum or Support Community through their website. They are the people who know your machine best, while I would only be guessing.

You can flip it around using tile and using a dowel hole

I know that slitting saws are made for metal machining, but unsure if any are made small enough to go on a 1/4 or3/8" dia arbor for any cnc router. The same tool path and calculations would apply. The # of teeth also would need to be considered. I know they work very well on cnc metal machining, but wood is another animal altogether.
