26:50 so no recreational flying over moving vehicles. That's a bummer for those with no yard.

Hey Greg - great Q&A but at 30:38 part I think you may be incorrect. Last I read, DJI posted that they were adding RID to the Air2 by the end of September.

Yes but the communication I saw was from their customer service and not an official release so who knows if it’s true. Their customer service emails have been known to be incomplete or false before.

I thought I had saw DJI say all dates will be delayed. I want their FPV but I'd rather wait for built-in RemoteID b/c my State has unconstitutional privacy laws still written.

If I get my 107 and want to fly recreationally, Will I need the RID? Assuming aircraft is under 249 gm.
@jeffevans8849 Жыл бұрын
And from what I'm hearing, If I dont get my 107, I can continue to fly recreationally without the RID?
@PilotInstitute Жыл бұрын
If you get your 107 certificate you will be able to decide before a flight if you’re following recreational rules or part 107 rules. You can’t change in the middle of a flight but you can decide before taking off.

My DJI Air 3 shows it is a category 1 drone. I do not understand why you did not mention that. What do you mean when you say “You must have a categorized drone”?
@PilotInstitute Жыл бұрын
It's actually not an FAA Category 1, it's a European A1 category, which does not apply in the United States. I hope this helps.

Hi PI, I was trying to watch the live Q&A but at one point, about 25-30 minutes into it, there was a loud audio interference, sounded like a deep-dive video about a drone or something, I could no longer hear what you were saying during the live Q&A. I couldn't find the video/source of the interference, had to stop watching.. Came back later and the live, was fine & I was able to watch the last 5 mins or so.. Not sure what happened Thanks anyway

There was an issue in our side. It should be good now.

Drone pilots have to have the 107 to fly for money. A private pilot and commercial pilot can skip the 107 test figuring the pilot knows airspace and common sense. Why can a private pilot skip 107 testing to have the ability to video for money when they can't fly the plane for money but can video in plane for money and get 107. Yah.

The FAA sees all drones, even those below 250g, as literal aircraft. But I can't answer your question, IDK the rules.
@PilotInstitute Жыл бұрын
They are still taking a test, just a different one. It doesn’t contain info about airspace since a part 61 pilot already proved they understand that part. I does have questions about regulation though since part 61 pilots never tested on that.
