I watched most of the trial today (watching replay here now). Brooks whining about his life being over and not being able to visit friends when HE KILLED PEOPLE is just too much. Whining about a made up shoulder injury when a witness today had TWO KNEE SURGERIES, flew 15-20 feet from the car, and had their son get run over ALL BY BROOKS is just… I don’t know. Words are not enough for the anger and frustration of watching that part of the interrogation, seeing that witness, and hearing the audio of the marching band part of his rampage all in one day. Hes such a practiced gaslighter that he truly believes saying things like "Thats a lie!", "My behavior wasnt disruptive", and "You held me in contempt!" means that the truth and historical fact will simply be overriden by whatever he says. He did it throughout the trial. When Zack put his history as a sex offender with 15 year old Erika Patterson on the record (outside the presence of the jury) during his offer of proof, Darrell thought screaming "THAT'S A LIE!" would negate the fact that he had in fact been convicted of that very thing and the appellate court would just read his denials and constant rewriting of history, forget everything they'd already read in the record, and say "Well, Not Darrell Brooks said it didn't happen, so we must disregard the fact that it's true." I guess he's so used to lying and rewriting history that he believes his gaslighting will be as successful in the courtroom as it was in his personal life. I don't know how he managed to survive to age 40 with that attitude and those personality traits.

He knows he will be found guilty, there's too much evidence against him so his only way to get out of this at this point is to either get a mistrial or drag the process on for as long as possible. I think he's already lost the case, he just needs to be in court long enough to get sentenced.

This judge has been a saint. I love her and respect her. I love when judges stand for the jury that shows the ultimate respect but this judge has remained remarkably consistent, fair, honest, respectful and she and the judge from Murdaugh and Felicia stough ( wrong spelling of last name) was awesome. There’s about 5 judges I truly respect. Sorrow went above and beyond I doubt we would’ve seen this with any other judge. Keep this woman in this courtroom or let her run for the White House.

@ 22:25 - THIS is the problem. the offering of basic human rights to people who took those same rights from other people. why does he get to murder people (whether done by accident or not) AND have the right to make mockery of the the court? why does the American judicial system have to 'holier than thou'? a basic human right is the "right to a fair trial and the presumption of innocence" what is considered "fair" is it fair to the families to see this sh$% show and/or being questioned/crossed by some crazy person who himself does not believe in these same basic human rights?

It's hard to watch, especially being part of Waukesha County community. At the same time I can't stop watching this. It's a train wreck, at least he's digging his own grave here. The judge has been more then accommodating, and his antics are not working.

@lawyeryouknow and all. There is actually an interview with his Mother I watched on the news, I'm so sorry I don't remember the channel, but she said SHE WILL NOT be going to the trial or watching the trial because it was very hard for her to watch him disrespecting everyone (or something like that) She seemed like such a sweet person, she cried the entire interview and made some statements that was very hard to listen to about his possible mental state, why he did this, etc... But I felt sorry for her, I mean we can't hardly blame her for his actions, right!?

Since he feels nothing should be hidden from the jury, why not tell them about his past crimes? I know they can't but by his logic, it's ok. Seems like he's not trying to defend himself but put the judge, prosecution and police on trial. I feel so sorry for this jury. Can you imagine being called by the criminal who injured you and your son? He did it bc apparently he described the color of the vehicle was black not red but he ends up saying he doesn't remember saying it was black. He basically served up a great witness for the prosecution!

The Jury and witnesses that have to deal with this court trial should be able to charge the courts for "cruel and unusual damages inflicted upon them in a court room" for having to sit through this bullshit day in and day out. I have never seen any other court procedure be allowed go on like this, for the innocent parties involved. Not even that school shooter's trial from Florida and we all know what type of monster he was!

My guess would be that DB will be wearing a stun belt under his suit during the vehicle trip. Also, there will be several deputies escorting him. The judge has gone to great lengths to make sure that the jury doesn't see any handcuffs/leg irons. He had leg irons on in court which is why no one is allowed to approach witnesses and the opening/closing statement are made from the tables. Also, there are skirts around every table.

Happy Birthday Peter!! Thanks for the community you created. I tried my best to stay impartial, and even playing Devil's Advocate but this guy is a lost cause. I've said this in other comments (so forgive me) - I think this type of trial shows the shortcomings of the American Judicial system.

I have been following sovereign citizens for years now, his lack of understanding is so cringe, the court and the DA have been beyond helpful to him, alot of things they don't have to do, alot of his questions go nowhere, most have no direction, the part that pisses me off is he throws out there that he's been disrespected and the entire court is plotting against him when in reality they've done way more than they actually have to, I understand why the state and the judge are treating this the way they are, an appeal will go nowhere, he won't be able to say anything was one sided and anyone who watches this or reads the record will believe that, I see a lot of comments bashing the judge and DA but they don't understand their doing everything they can to make sure he has no ammo when he goes for an appeal. He has hurt himself at every turn with all the objections and clearly not understanding what he's objecting, I can't wait for the closing arguments, he is gonna be a riot with his closing argument

This is another cracking good review - I'm a bit annoyed you've sucked me into this case & I can't stop watching now, but it's fascinating. I've started using 1.5x speed to watch too! I'm surprised it's watchable & might progress to 2x speed soon. Today was very educational, the judge's explanations to Mr Brooks help with understanding what's going on (even if he doesn't bother to listen, I do) and it was stark today how much the judge and prosecution really care about ensuring he gets a fair trial, even when he's acting against his own best interest. I really feel that judge & prosecution truly believe in justice & everyone deserves a defense and a fair trial, not just that they don't want reasons for appeal. The evidence against Mr Brooks is overwhelming, people are dead because of his actions, and the jury will likely take 5 seconds per charge to deliberate and find him guilty whatever happens from now on. I thought the judge and the police officer did well to keep Mr Brooks calm later on today, being respectful and allowing him points despite his earlier belligerence.

I've been watching the Darrell Brooks trial everyday since it started. I usually am just a little late but Friday i woke up extra early and was glad i did because i was greeted with extra crazy. Darrell reads the incomplete public defender's notes, asks the questions they noted, then he takes a five minute break between questions for the next 45 minutes as he asks the poor witness questions that range from meaningless to devastating to his own case 99% of the time. Darrell is a woman hating a-hole bad father that lives with mama and never developed passed the age of 5. I'll never understand why he got rid of his own lawyer. The judge in my opinion has THE MOST patient and professional attitude with this child and in doing so will avoid any sort of appeal I hope. Darrell appears to be trying to state that he in fact isn't Darrell and if that doesn't work he notified the victims with a horn honk, smart.
