This is a brown banded bamboo shark. They are egg layers, the egg being called a purse. They are common in the aquarium trade along with the epaulette shark and the coral cat shark. They typically grow to 4 feet in length with females, as usual, being the larger of the two. When they grow up and mature they lose the striped banded look and look like a thinner and smaller nurse shark. Making them pretty popular in the trade.

We did this with my step dad's tank when i was young. Banded cat shark and everything. Kept worrying we were making the wrong move by cutting it. Shark out-grew the 80 gallon tank in only a year and a half, i still wonder how the rest of its journey has gone. Good luck

@@TheBestAlien the shark cant be put back into the wild i think the reason it cant be put into the ocean after being helped hatch is cuz (if it even survived) it could breed which, overtime, would create weaker and weaker sharks of whatever speices of shark it is. also im not 100% sure about this, but i do know its true for chickens also the shark was born in captivity so i dont think it would live long if it was released
