When I played SoulSilver over a decade ago, and wanted to catch a shiny Latios, I just used an action replay code to make one appear in the wild for me. I regret nothing.

@Anthony Thatcher Action Replay is/was a 3rd-party piece of hardware designed to have GBA and DS game cartridges. You put the Action Replay device into your DS, put your DS cartridge into the game slot on the action replay, turn on your DS and then run any pre-programmed cheat codes on your game.

What a beautiful shiny. I'm the same with the Hoenn region: it's like a home to me. I love going back and seeing what's in my Sapphire PC box and battling the Elite Four over and over. Gen 3 always gives me that bit of nostalgia as it's the generation I grew up with. I'd watch my brother play XD Gale of Darkness and I'd play Sapphire when I learned what Pokémon was and how to play. It's such a great game!

Just got my own shiny Latios in my Ultra Sun copy, within the last remaining (30+) days of pokemon bank. i also had 3 pokemon in my party so i really didn't wanna lose it. But i had a Master Ball just in case, it knocked out my Marshadow and Necrozma and all i had left was my (Alolan) Exeggutor on almost no HP, i stopped counting at 250 encounters. (But the actual number could be in the 1000's)
