[LIVE] Shiny Surskit after 12,444 eggs hatched in Pokémon Sapphire (DTQ #2)

If only the Avery a year ago could have known how awful this was going to be...
Sorry guys, I know it's been a minute. Life has been busy as ever, and this hunt as slow as can be. With that being said, I am just glad that it's done and over with. It is so nice to find a full-odds shiny after so long. I've almost forgotten what that feels like!
As mentioned in the video, DON'T HUNT FOR EGGS IN RUBY AND SAPPHIRE (just kidding, do whatever you like, lol). I highly discourage it though and can't think of a worst way to hunt for a shiny in gen 3. Simply put, if there's a more effective and easier way to hunt something, just do that. However, we are full-odds shiny hunters in the first place, so I guess we threw that reasoning out the window a long time ago, haha.
All jokes aside I am so glad that this hunt is over and that I can finally move onto other hunts. It's good to be back, and I'll try to hunt as much as possible. But with school being around the corner, there realistically is only so much I can do.

Congratulations 🎉 Find it amazing that people have the patience for this. I really like full odds hunting, but egg hunting is on a completely different level. Only time I did it was a Mankey in SoulSilver, using Masuda (1/1638 in that Gen), got it after 1306 and it is by far the most boring hunt i have ever done. Can't see myself ever doing a 1/8192 egg.

I found myself thinking the same thing 3 years ago. However, I think as you shiny hunt more you will eventually want to chase a better “high”. Of course I can’t speak for everyone. But I know the more I hunt, the more crazier hunts I’ll want to do. If that makes any sense 😅

@@jazzthatshiny Makes total sense. I am still a relative noob when it comes to full odds, only have about 10 full odds shinies. For me it's not so much the time it takes, I just found it so much more tedious than normal full odds hunting for some reason. I think it was just the fact that for most of it I was just biking mindlessly, and then once in a while I got to see a few Pokémon.

Such a cool hunt and shiny, even if the surskit line suffers terribly from the physical special split in gen 3. Love these pokemon. I've been doing gen 2 hunts exclusively this year, but this video makes me want to get a new sp and fire up my childhood copy of sapphire for some gen 3 hunting

Congratulations on the hunt, Surskit is my favorite pokemon. Hopefully they give it a regional evolution in the future because Masquerain doesn't do it for me. I recently finished my Sapphire shiny grass monotype team with Breloom, Roselia, Ludicolo, Shiftry, and Cradily.

If another guy was dumb enough to try a hunt like that, who did you use to breed? Just 2 surskit? I don't believe there is anything special you need to do in sapphire to breed shinies, just get 2 compatible pokemon in the daycare and get after it?
