Hey sir! I'm an audio tech at my church. We have the exact same set up at one of our campuses. Digico S31 60 channel version, Hear Tech WSG Bridge , Waves Soundgrid Impact server, and Superrack. For some reason when we use the insert send and return audio will pass through Superrack but no audio will come out of the console but as soon as we turn the insert off the audio will pass through again. Heres an example of an input and signal flow...Shure ULXD Mic comes into the S31 as a Dante input, then insert (send and return) Dante out to the bridge then out to the vocal bus, then master. We have a workaround set up in the mean time but that is not preferred. With the way we currently have it working if the server were to crash or Any ideas on what we could be doing wrong? We have to be missing something. I have spoken with Hear Tech support, Waves and Digico to no avail. We performed some needed updates but its still not working as designed. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!

for studio song production, which one is the most recommended? what is WSG?

I use waves and UAD mostly. WSG is waves Soundgrid network. It’s a way to use studio tools live without worries about latency.

@@thepowerplaceproduction Oh, I see, for example for the production of studio song recordings, (call it at the home recording level) is it enough to use the effects rack in the desk only?

If your using a digital console to record into pro tools or a daw it can do basic stuff but you usually want the color of analog boxes or analog emulation plug ins if your doing that. They can help with routing and monitors though! They also are nice because they are usually 32x32 or 48x48 on the interface side.

Hello. Thank you for the videos. Do you use the digico eq + ssl or only waves plugins? Do you make the gain from the digico or directly from the Chanel ssl?

I use the digico EQ for vocals and instrument inputs. Drums I use the SSL plug-in EQ. Sometimes I might use a plug-in, sometimes I might use the desk. Depends on what I’m getting from the stage/input list. Gain is always done on the console.

What is the latency with your Dante-SG-Dante interface? I’m very intimately familiar with S31, and ran Dante to send raw signal to streaming desk and monitoring desk. But never to interface it with SG.

Hey Alexandr! The channel insert send goes out the Dante DMI to monitors, and mults to the SG bridge on the Dante network. The insert return comes from the Dante/SG bridge back into the channel insert using the DMI return. The latency with that is whatever the Dante network is set too. Our network is small so it’s less than 1ms. The SG bridge adds 1-2ms of latency. So if we’re really doing a lot of processing it might hit 2-3ms total. But only at FOH so it’s not ever a problem.
