The first thing to consider is why do these people wish to get to the UK. Remove the attractions, i.e.. handouts, accommodation etc, and let this be known to them before they consider embarking on a possible death voyage. Living in a camp area similar to the French sites we see just maybe make them think twice. I'm well aware there are some very deserving cases involved and perhaps a reduction in the number of arrivals would enable the 'assessment' centres to improve their processing rate. Incidentally it would be interesting to find how many deserving cases have been handled! The final solutions to the problem are not going to be political ones, just the plain application of common sense.
