I find it simply preposterous that any of these people arriving in boats are in a state of having a 'well founded fear of being persecuted' during the last 2 or more countries which they have travelled through. It's simply a ridiculous idea. My own theory. 1. Allowing the EU to legislate a harmonised Migration and Asylum policy (Amsterdam Treaty 1999). 2. These are effectively interest free loans which you pay back when you're back in work, usually £50 a month.
