This so awe-inspiringly beautiful. Question: If you were a noob, but you had a Hydrasynth, a Hologram Microcosm and a mix board (and that was it) what other (bare minimum) gear do you think would be essential to make some beginning generative music?

Maybe an Octatrack, but even that wont give you true generative capabilities..I'm not even aware of any hardware sequencers outside of modular that will do real generative stuff

I only use Digitakt for percussion, I don't use its MIDI tracks

What do you use to multitrack your performances/eurorack in general? Do you even multitrack. I'm looking at the Expert Sleepers stuff to use ADAT, but I need more than 8 channels. the ES-9 looks good, but I don't want to have to use an aggregated device. What do you use?

I don't multitrack the modular stuff, it's all mixed in-rack with some basic EQ and compress on the end of the stereo mix, then it's fed into the DAW. I use a PC, so ES-9 is kinda useless for me since I can't use aggregate devices. If I were a Mac user, I'd probably go the ES-9 route.

iPad and miRack ;-) or VCV rack on desktop ... for learning it's absolutely perfect.. also low-cost way how to find which hardware modules you want to buy before you start throwing huge money on it

I love the Quantum, but I haven't had as much time as usual, so was focusing on newer gear. I'll do some more live stuff with the Quantum soon.

State has a minimum level of gear required just to listen to his stuff... I have a PreSonus rig with a USB Studio 18|10, a pair of R65s and a T10 sub and I feel like i'm barely meeting the sonic range requirements.
