I know an alternative that works just as well, if not better: copy the link in the popped out stream chat, create a browser in obs, paste the link, and then there's some customization, it's with CSS which might be difficult to understand but there's websites that make it way easier, and you don't even have to download anything!

Stream elements and twidget were DoA for me and streamlabs? I hope I would've been that capable to afford such pc. But thanks to your video I finally got my chat overlay. Ngl I did this on twitch and seriously... the result is same as you did on YT. Not just chat but BG too? That's crazy man. Looks like my live stream lvl up very much and looks much enhanced than when I did it by myself. Seriously your settings are universal and works regardless of OS, platform and software. I tried it in gamecaster, prism studio and XSplit broadcaster and the results are same as OBS. Thanks for such great tutorials Edit: Linux Gamer Here

This doesn't work for me at all Trying to get chatbox to show up when I start a stream from inside OBS, not from inside KZbin Studio... and get Restream to read the chat box messages out loud. I got all the stuff setup and can do text streams, but I can't get that bloody chat box to show up, and if I type a chat message inside OBS it won't let me press send OBS is great for recording, but this is really blowing for streaming

This works using the chat pop out from the live studio like I show in the video. If you dont pop out the chat from there it doesn’t work.

I watched this multiple times and I was so excited to be able to put the chat onto my live stream and I was going to try it out this morning. Only, it didn’t work this well for me. Somewhere between when you clicked the plus button window and click around, mine does not look like yours. I don’t have the options that you have, so this does not work for me. I’m sure it’s something I’m not doing, but you click around quickly because you know what you’re doing, I’m lost because I’m just not at that point. You mentioned another video, but I can’t find a link to it. Btw, I’m using Windows 11 on a laptop and OBS studio.

Was miffed when it was not working for me. I use nested Scenes. Then I realized I have to change this setting in each Nested Scene for it to work. Thx for the vid, it helped out a lot. Hopefully youtube will realize a lot more people will stream on their platform if they made it as brainless as twitch.

This trick doesn't work. You can place the chat on the screen but new comments are not popping up on the screen. You have to refresh it manually in obs to make new comment appear on the screen.
