So if we are fortunate enough to have Barry back on maybe consider having Gene come on with him on a 3 way call. Those two together would be pure gold. No time limit. Just let them go on about hunting experiences together and share stories. It would be a breath of fresh air. Hard not to smile when I hear them speak. Fantastic job guys!

I’m 72 and still getting after it. Now I’m trying to instill some of what I’ve learned to my son,son in law and a couple of their friends. The Wenzels started the fire burning. I think I still have some of their videos.

Alot of wisdom there. Glad you guys had him on. I had vhs tapes of him and his brother when I was a kid. I got to meet them in Harrisburg PA years. Chuck Adam's was another favorite. He would be great to have if you can get him. I'm definitely going to try to slow down and think more.

Wow, this is Great !! My Idols and Mentors from "Back In The Day" I drove around the country back in the late 80's and early 90's to all the "North American Whitetail Seminars" just to Listen & Learn from Gene & Barry. After 47 years of strictly Bowhunting , I owe all my Big Buck success to Gene & Barry. Reading Gene's Books ( I still have them, autographed by Gene) was a revolution in the way I hunted from then on. First thing I did was get rid of my Baker & T.S.S "rattle-trap", Climbing Treestands, and still have 4 Loc-On "Limit" Hang-On Treestands, (7-1/2lbs.) They don't make them ,like that anymore. I also "Learned how to Hunt Cornfields" From Gene... "Just Burn Them Down !!! " L.O.L's. At 63 they still are my motivation, to get out and Bowhunt, Love You Guys, God-Bless !

It was great listening to this episode. Barry is a wealth of knowledge and as a relatively new hunter I really appreciate all of you and the information that you share. The best part that they for me was to watch Dan’s face and he just looked like a kid in a candy store. You know he was just listening to someone that really influenced him along the way and that was great to see that smile in his face and how much he appreciated Barry.

Running into the younger generation of hunter's on public land is a complete nightmare. They look at other hunter's like HOW DARE YOU COME HUNT HERE. 99 percent of the younger guy's I run into and try saying good morning to or how are ya'll doing today LOOK AT ME LIKE I JUST THREW A TURD IN THEIR MOUTH The level of disrespect nowadays is at an ALL TIME HIGH. But they want likes on the interweb.

You can thank hunting social media for the public land crowding... just so everyone is aware. Stop filming hunts and putting them on the internet and gaslighting public land hunting. Its ruining the experience for everyone.
@thehuntingbeast

I hope I had something to do with that... More people hunting and on our side, rather than sitting in bars or causeing trouble... Im certainly glad more people are choosing to hunt. But Im not a greedy person.
@EthanPageHunter
@EthanPageHunter 6 ай бұрын
@@thehuntingbeast I don't want to give the impression of greed. None of us should be. But when things get advertised at the volume they are to the volume of people receiving it, you are going to get more bad actors and people in it for the wrong reasons. I want good quality hunting for my kids like I had growing up and the way the landscape is changing, the over crowding, leasing up land, all because of shows and social media influence. The community needs to start asking its self (un-biased) whether we are doing more harm than good to the future of hunting. I want people to enjoy the outdoors and hunt FOR THE RIGHT REASONS. More important (as we have enough hunters on the landscape nationwide) we need to educate others on why hunting is necessary. Recruiting more hunters is not the way to the future. I genuinely wish you the very best, Dan. But on behalf of more people than you realize, social is hurting hunters.
@Poppaott84

@@EthanPageHunter If people are watching folks like Dan, the public lands will be a far better place. Dan's out there picking up litter, not messing w/ other peoples stuff, and teaching hunters how to use woodsmanship instead of hunting over bait. My experience of public land has been beer cans, illegally set treestands and shooting lanes cut, rude hunters that think that its "their" spot because they've hunted there for 20 years... Dan is doing a big part in making the public lands a better place by teaching hunters the right way to do it.

I’ve noticed a big increase in bow hunters on public land. I figured it was internet related. Its a changing world. Like the spread of CWD. Who’s to blame for what? Life’s not fair or easy. Just try to enjoy the ride.
