Lowell is in a nice location and has been cleaned up a lot. But one thing you mentioned was traffic, and generally if you live on the north side of the merrimack river, you can add 15- 25 minutes to your commute just getting over the bridges to get to rt 495 or 93. Also the big corporate building was originally built by Wang Laboratories which competed with IBM, Digital computer back in the 80's & 90's and Wang lost. UKG is just a renter of a couple of floors in that building and they paid to have their sign put on the building so it's not really the "UKG" building. Interesting trivia question....does anyone remember how much those 3 big buildings sold for when Wang was going under and had to sell? Hint: it was less than one million dollars!

You're absolutely Right about traffic..we used to live in Pawtucketville...we know all about that traffic LOL. Currently live in a much better spot. I semi-agree with you about UKG..but let's be honest..they own that area. Did you know they get a huge tax break just for coming to Lowell? Thanks for that factoid about Wang...I don't know the answer lol

@@livinginmassachusetts25 There are usually tax incentives involved or other incentives associated with any company moving to the next town over, (Kronos expanding operations from Chelmsford into Lowell) since i do believe Kronos still has offices in chelmsford. The price paid for the old Wang Towers as it was know was $600,000 i believe, and rumor is/was thar the day the Towers sold, the buyer went to Wang (who was still in the building and remained there for some time) and demanded the first month's rent that was probably the same price they paid for the building. What's that building worth today? I have no idea, but my guess is it's more than $600k.
