As a general rule, the knot for the light pull cord should be *above* the centre of gravity for the light pull, or it will hang awkwardly. All you have to do to achieve this is drill the larger diameter hole a bit deeper...

Thanks. A couple of questions 1. When using the beading and parting tool what should the height of the tool rest be and the what should the angle of the chisel handle be 2. How and where should camellia oil be applied to the lathe to protect it and how often. I have just purchased the Axminster tool care kit for this purpose. Many thanks

I am new to wood turning. And I recently bought the axminster craft ac355wl. The drive centre you're using here. Is there one that you know of that would fit my lathe? I take it m33 is the size I'd be looking for as well?
