Күн бұрын

In 2019, Tennessee couple Sean Finnegan and Rebecca Dishman invited 35-year-old Jennifer Paxton into their home, promising her a place to live. Once inside, the couple allegedly brutally beat her with a bat, tortured, raped, and strangled her to death. Dishman pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in 2023, but Sean Finnegan pleaded not guilty and is heading to trial. Finnegan could face life behind bars for the heinous crime.

I just love this judge so much!!! He has been so fair, judged fairly and professionally from the bench in most instances as has listened to this case very diligently. Bravo judge! This is one case I’m sure he is never going to forget!!

This is one of the better defense attorneys that I have seen. Very impressive. I would only hope that when up against the state and their endless resources, that this defense attorney is available. This is not a judgment on who’s his client but more of a judgment on the justice system, as it is now.

You're right, but considering what we heard earlier in the trial it's probably just as well that it's inaudible. I think the poor sound is due to the interview being recorded, then played in court and the microphones cannot pick up the original sounds.

I really like the female prosecutor, she presents the case really well in a very easy to understand manner. Her personality seems very 'normal', not aggressive or snobby like some. Very relatable for jurors.

The defence closing was very long-winded. His smiling and laughing during the closing was distasteful. A woman has been brutally murdered, someone is serving LWOP + 50 years for her part in the murder and the defendant could get DP. The defence seemed intent on using all his allocated time; in this case there isn't much for him to say in defence of his client and he'd have been better off using half the time instead of repeating himself. I agree with you about the female prosecutor, very down to earth and an excellent communicator.

Yup! He keeps qualifying, 'I don't know. It could have happened that way. We don't know what happened.' He's definitely creating reasonable doubt, but not for kidnapping and torture. He's in the mix, so he's part of the murder. I'd be floored if he's found not guilty for everything.

I think that may be due to the streaming technology. The actual interview is recorded, then played in court and the court microphones are picking up what is heard in court. As a result it's often inaudible. In short, I think it's inaudible because of basic recording technology. Considering what we saw and heard earlier in the trial, the interview being inaudible may be a blessing in disguise.

This is from 8:30am. The jury isn't in there. They started early to work on the wording of the documents. The word LIVE shouldn't be on there any longer. EDIT: I meant to be replying to a person that was questioning why the Judge was in court w/o his robe on. So I made a mistake and replied w/o posting it directly to @tammy_irwin26. I see that there were a few other ppl who have explained to her the same thing. But you people jumping at the opportunity to be snarky at me over a comment, really?? Did that make ya feel better?
