Jake was explaining the job of a deck-ape humpin' chocks and chains... but forgot to mention the Night Ops scenarios in heavy weather. Nor how the flightdeck non-skid is worn off about three months into deployment, and when the aircraft are taxiing around, they can actually slide off into the catwalk, forcing the crew to eject from the aircraft. And if that happens, when you and your parachute hit the water, you can be run over by the carrier and taken for a ride. That was one of many nightmares I had while aboard the carrier. As a former Navy Instructor, (9502) I'm very impressed with Jake's delivery and subject matter expertise.

If you fail BRC they usually send you to Aviation side due to the GT score. You almost never get sent back to Infantry.

I wish somebody could’ve shown me land nav practice before joining military. They suck at showing people how to land nav.
