I'm so glad somebody talked about this! I've thought about how personal experience impacts my style and my confidence, but I never heard anyone else acknowledge this phenomenon! Btw, I'm 20 and trying to find my "grown-up" style professionally and socially. Your blog has been ridiculously helpful, and people have noticed. I get respect now! It's amazing!

"It's not about looking cute. Looking cute is fun but it's about what that feeling of confidence can do for you, can do for the rest of your life." Oh, Lauren! So glad I've found you ❤

Lauren can you count everything in your wardrobe and do a video on how many items you own. eg, how many pairs of shoes, jeans etc. (LOL no pressure; obviously that's a bit of a task, would be good to compare to help me wither par down or go shopping)! The video was tops, as usual.

I literally avoided buying clothes entirely for much of my life because of this! I hated my body (and myself) and was waiting until I reached the "perfect" fitness level to start caring about how I looked. Because of this, my wardrobe consisted of tee shirts, yoga pants, leggings, maybe one ill-fitting pair of jeans, a basic winter coat, etc. I could never really go out anywhere because I literally had nothing to wear due to this self-made prison I was in. This situation made sense to me at the time, but now sounds so ridiculous and I can't believe I lived that way.

Now, I know the word for my problem. This conversation really resonated with me. I have been thinking about why I have so much clothes for months and did identify the issue but not the word for it. Since the summer I have donated over 20 large black bags full of clothes, shoes, handbags and I am not done yet. I am a work in progress. Thank you for all your videos. You inspire me.

Love you Lauren, but the reversed Hermes backdrop is a bit distracting...

I used to relate to this first story , oh my gosh sooo much!!.... I started paying attention to styling videos, constantly searching through Pinterest, learning about capsule wardrobes, 10 item 10 ways, project 333, and 6 months later....i am putting a very stylish, easy to wear, wardrobe!!! I love it. I shop with purpose!!

Yep I have tons of baggage! Short story it was either hand me downs or sew it. I began sewing most of my clothes in the 4th grade. I keep going back to that because now I know what I want and I am tall and I need to sew it or alter it. Right now I am trying to focus on basics with awesome fit. Love all your videos and today you really opened my eyes.....I went thru a phase where it was about having a ton of clothes and nothing to wear. Now I try to see how far I can streach my wardrobe with the things I keep reaching for. And by the way I would LOVE to see you get back into sewing. Just being able to control the garment from fabric choice to fit is SO powerful.

I love this video and hadn't really considered this before. This easily explains why I have 50 pairs of shoes since it was difficult to find shoes in my size (12) for most of my life. Now I have this collection... lol

Come back to the dark side (aka sewing for yourself). We have fabric stores. Speaking of getting your mojo back, how about just wandering through Mood sometime?

Talking about UPS... Most unreliable company ever! I recently returned an item for the first time and ran into sooo much trouble with UPS. They either never showed up, couldn't get in contact with the driver and now I am still waiting for a receipt from the driver 1 week later...

May I kindly suggest that you think of a different name for "style schizophrenia" -it can be insensitive and inaccurate to liken wardrobe malfunction with a serious mental illness. Maybe jack of all trades or wearing too many hats..style kaleidoscope?

I think you maybe a good or a great stylist , but I don’t see the results of your knowledge because you don’t show your style except on you . I would like to see some of your before and after Clint styling.
