This is a great idea, but with the amount of multitasking officers already do this could be dangerous while driving if its a single man unit. In a perfect world you'd have two officers in a car before you implement this.
@HigherGroundVideos2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, David, for your comment. We appreciate your feedback. Indeed, when HigherGround was developing this solution we consulted with police officers experienced in patrol to create features that would keep distractions to a minimum. Live911 has geofence capabilities so first responders will only listen to calls (hands-free) within a defined radius or beat. Additionally, incoming calls can be muted with a single click at any time. The display mapping feature is an option that can be leveraged by a second officer or when a single person unit can safely view.

Great idea! There's just one problem. How about getting fully staffed with officers so this works to it's full potential.

Police lack funding to have enough officers, now that a large number of agencies have been defunded, 911 calls get put on pending call lists...

A local ambulance service several years ago paid money to the city to get on the computer dispatch system they used. When they would see an EMS call come up they would dispatch an ambulance to it and not wait until the 911 dispatcher put the call out over the air. City fire made them take the computer away from the ambulance service because they were mad the ambulance were getting to the calls first since they waited until 911 dispatched them. Sad when the city was delaying ambulances just so fire could get there first. Fire to this day still tracks how fast they get to calls over the ambulance. Now they have an out of town ambulance service where dispatch is over 100 miles away and could care less how fast they get there. Local ambulance do not even have voice contact with dispatch any more. But city fire got there wish. Wait for an ambulance can now take up to 45 minutes on a 911 call

Now you have to listen to someone (possibly multiple people) screaming and crying on the phone, a dispatcher trying to work, radio call outs from dispatch and other officers on the line, and people who might be trying to call you. Someone hits a panic button in the middle of all of that and you're trying to get a status, you can't because the world is falling apart in your car.
