Having worked in both my self working in a hospital your a number. Especially when you’re living and doing everything for 24 or 48 hours (depending on department you work for). The fire department and police department are a lot tighter than working in a hospital. Not trying to start anything but when working in police and fire departments it’s cause something is bad is happening. When in the hospital you’re usually in a safe, regulated environment. And if it’s not you call….? Typical answer is hospital public safety, that’s the hospital’s police, and usually they’re the ones calming down and protecting both sides.

OK, I dispatched for 30+ years and left close to five years ago. I was a firefighter before that for six years. I miss working radio and the equipment and technology you have has improved incredibly well since I got out. I wish I had that environment to work in, even with the 24/48s! I worked in the Midwest, not the Denver area. Good work y'all.

@@baguette1590I think it’s because the rescue team wouldn’t know what call they’re getting or where they’re going if it wasn’t for dispatch. So I think having such an important job would result in some form of payment.

I've been a Fire/EMS Dispatcher for 24 years now and was a Firefighter prior to that. Honestly, I don't think I could do a 24 hr. shift now! I have trouble sleeping. I can't imagine having to sleep there and get rung out throughout the night. You guys are amazing!

Thank you for sharing this and for the amazing job that you do!!! I had a medical emergency recently and my boyfriend had to call 911 to get me to the hospital and within minutes, the ambulance was here and got me to the hospital just in time! Without the amazing teamwork and training/treatment everyone provided, it could have been a totally different situation. So much respect for the work that you do, thank you x a million!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Outstanding spokesperson and excellent production. Fire/EMS Dispatchers are always so much happier than Law Dispatchers.

Thank you! These people are so important. I found a woman about 30 years old not breathing on the sidewalk on my way home. I called and got help fast. I was so scared, but they helped me and told me everything to do. Me and that lady are both ok today

I've always found it so fascinating how efficient and fluid the dispatching process is from the time she took that one call at the highschool to when the tone went out for Engine and Medic 17 was about 38 seconds thats pretty amazing to me
