This was my parents' wedding song in 1983. They were at Live Aid in 1985. My mother died in 2018, aged 61, and it came on the radio when she was unconscious in intensive care, just a couple of days before they switched off the ventilator. Hope she heard it! It'll always make me think of her. Love you mum! x

Spandau Ballet was one of the best bands of that era,and should have been more appreciated in the US.Their performance at Live Aid was one of the better sets that fine day.I am glad I was 18 and able to experience the whole early 80s vibe,I miss it all more every day.

@Whyatt Preston |Yes there is! and as for the badd music in the 70's and 80's it was far outweighed by the good. The opposite can be said of todays mindless disposable rubbish!

So true, funny how it seems Always in time, but never in line for dreams Head over heels when toe to toe This is the sound of my soul This is the sound I bought a ticket to the world But now I've come back again Why do I find it hard to write the next line? I want the truth to be said I, I-I-I, I I know this much is true I, I-I-I, I I know this much is true With a thrill in my head and a pill on my tongue Dissolve the nerves that have just begun Listening to Marvin (all night long) This is the sound of my soul This is the sound Always slipping from my hands Sand's a time of its own Take your seaside arms and write the next line I want the truth to be known I, I-I-I, I I know this much is true I, I-I-I, I I know this much is true, I know this much is true I bought a ticket to the world But now I've come back again Why do I find it hard to write the next line? I want the truth to be, I want the truth to be said I, I-I-I, I I know this much is true I, I-I-I, I I know this much is true, I know this much is true This much is true This much is true This much is true This much is true This much is true This much is true This much is true I, I-I-I, I, I Know this much is true I, I-I-I, I, I Know this much is true This much is true This much is true I know, I know, I know this much is true This much is true This much is true This much is true (I, I-I-I, I, I) This much is true I know this much is true This much is true (I, I-I-I, I, I) This much is true Know this much is true This much is true (I, I-I-I, I, I) This much is true Know this much is true I know, I know, I know this much is true This much is true (I, I-I-I, I, I) This much is true I know this much is true This much is true

I was 8-yrs old when this was performed and little did I know how beautiful this song marked that and other moments in time that I'd do nearly anything to recapture when I think of all the people in my life, especially my parents, were still alive and providing shields of innocence and comfort that I didn't understand until they were no longer with me.

My dad recently took his own life after a 2 year long battle with addiction , this was him and my mothers wedding song, and before I lost my dad although I liked the song I never understood how brilliant the song rlly was until after my dads passing, now listing it now, it was probably the greatest song made in the 1980s, probs one of the greatest songs of all time , such a timeless classic , no wonder my old paps loved it x

Long leather jacket and pants in middle of summer lol. Something magical about the 1980’s tho can’t put my finger on what that was, maybe because I grew up then and everything seems great when you are young. Sensational decade for music. 👌🏻

Such a crisp performance. Everything meshed so well, and the arrangement isn't rushed they take their time but play at a nice pace. Mr Hadley is the man!

** I read somewhere that they only had fifteen minutes on stage. It was too long for three songs but too short for two, so they had to rush through them quick.

Growing up in Detroit my 1st 20 yrs of my life I listened to only r&b, rap, very little pop music (Michael Jackson), and soul music. Since then I've opened to all genres of music and at 43 I favor the easy listening 1980s radio stations while driving and working (FM 98.7)
