Emerging from the mid-seventies New York punk rock movement, Blondie's mix of punk ethos, glorious melodies and the iconic figure of Debbie Harry took them to global superstardom.
On February 10, 1999 the band took to the stage of New York's Town Hall for their first hometown gig in 17 years. Featuring original members Debbie Harry, Chris Stein, Jimmy Destri and Clem Burke, the band stormed through a set that went back to their earliest days with In The Flesh and Rip Her To Shreds, through tracks from their smash hit comeback album No Exit, including their No.1 hit Maria, and of course all the hits in between such as Dreaming, Atomic, Union City Blue, Sunday Girl, Heart Of Glass and many more.
Filmed by VH1 for broadcast, this title includes the whole TV version plus around forty minutes of extra footage.

Sometimes I will watch a later live performance of a band I loved in the 70's and almost cry as to how bad they look and sound. Obviously, this isn't the case here :) The band were spot on in their playing and Deborah Harry's vocals were absolutely fantastic......I am surprised she could hit some of the notes that she did. I believe she was in her early 50's here ? She looks and sounds amazing.
