I saw every concert from Bonnet 1979 - 1984 Joe Turner was my favorite. Singing his love songs to my girl was so easy & user friendly to remember. And then I hated seeing him going back to purple & Gillan really EFFED it up completely for me. Richie should of never of disbanded Rainbow, JLT was the perfect singer for the 80's not' Gillan.! I was so sad.

I saw them play on this tour - Glasgow Apollo, aged 15. Dio was a fantastic singer, one of the best. Blackmore was less impressive tbh, but maybe he had an off night. Saw Gary Moore play with Thin Lizzie a few years later at the same venue - still the best I've ever seen.

And I've seen just about everyone there is to see in Rock , Heavy Metal , Thrash, Speed & Black Metal , Death Metal , Underground Metal , And Countless Bands of all other types of Music . Pop, Jazz , Soul , Rhythm & Blues , Ect.. You name it, I've seen it. I've saved every ticket stub to every Concert / Show I've ever seen & when the Concerts/ Shows stopped having tickets bcuz you paid at the door & ALOT of them were underground music concerts which were at local clubs instead of big concert hall , well I just cut out the adverts from the mags or grabbed a flyer of the show on the way out the door & added them to the ticket stub Collection in place of the ticket stub. My collection is vast , And yes, I'm quite deaf , and I have to say " WHAT DID YOU SAY " quite a lot these days . But no hearing aid just yet, Lol. Cheers ! Rock n Roll & Metal Will Never Die ! Dio and Blackmore were such a great match. One thing you could say about both of them is that when they went up on stage to perform live, they didn't leave a damn thing behind in the studio. You got both of them at their peak, at there best. People with that talent are born to perform live. They don't need the support of editing and engineering to do their thing and make it sound good. If you ran into them both at a party, and had them sit down, and handed Blackmore a cheap acoustic guitar, what you'd still get would be absolute genius.

Some people get to see an idol maybe 1 or 2 times in concert.....I marvel at the fact that when Ronnie was with ELF, and prior to his mega fame, they used to play our home town here in NE Pa an average of at least once every 2 months at a local club, and that I probably saw him at least 30 times.....not to mention the fact that it was from something like 10 feet away, as we all stood there transfixed.......still blows my mind to this day.....then all of a sudden it stopped cold turkey as ELF broke up, and we found out that he had gone with Rainbow.....then coming to the realization that indeed, he was on his way, and, more over that we had been privileged to see GREATNESS from such an early vantage point.

That was a very skilled and melodic guitar solo. Great stuff. Heavy rock transition to blues, 100% enjoyable. I wasn't prepared for how rich those vocals sounded at the end. Not an auto-tune in sight.

The engineer that tries to autotune Dio won't have a job in the industry for very long.

Blackmore's Rainbow was my first metal albums I purchased! Wow! Loved rocking out to Blackmore and Dio...I did not realize how much keyboard was involved until I just listened to this again! Thanks for bringing this!!...dang! Blackmore and keyboard just jumped into a bluesy thing about 7 min in..so damn cool!

+Stamatis Katsikas Yeah, I totally agree with you, it is like a Dream Team! Fantastic and Perfect Band!!! Dio and Blackmore in their best shape!
+Stamatis and Others,What really bothers me is that all Rainbow fans are extremely supportive, BUT, Rainbow never really made it big in the US. I met someone at a party once who claims that he saw Led Zeppelin in their disastrous 1977 tour of the United States. He also saw Rainbow in 1978. He told me that Blackmore left Jimmy Page for dead in the better guitarist category as well as the overall band performance. NOTE - Zeppelin's performances in '77 ranged from brilliant - their shows at the LA Forum - to really poor. Rainbow still had DIO and were hungry and driven.

I loooove it when our Dio moves his fingers while singing, it's like he is seasoning the song with magic!!!

Yes, Ronnie James Dio seemed like he was a believer in magic and the power of the Universe! R.I.P. - Ronnie James Dio
