Когда мне забрали в в советскую армию 1984-1986гг. (служил в Германии). Дали мне гитару и я спел эту песню. С того момента моя армейская история превратилась не забываемым сказкам. С того дня я автомат не держал в руку а гитару до конца службы. Забрали мне в гарнизонный дом офицеров и я там создал рок группу. Эхххх. Воспоминание воспоминание.

Ritchie has beautiful dexterity on the fret board, I've not seen anyone who has the graceful finger dance like him, it's really quite elegant. He's never jerky or hurried, it's fluid motion in complete control, it's massive talent'

Вся группа здесь хорошая. Замечательная сыгранность и понимание друг друга. Взять хотя бы момент на 4:08. Сигналы Блэкмора схватывают на лету. Профи. Соло здесь одно из лучших, хоть с этим октавером и испохабил весь концерт)) На любителя такой саунд. На фоне той шняги, что творится в наше время на сцене, эти выступления на записях 30 летней и старшей давности unbeatable - стали классикой.

Been a Rainbow fan since forever. Interesting aside I saw a Billy Jole concert back in December 23 in Phoenix, AZ and Churg Burgi and David Rosenthal were manning the drums and keyboards just like in this concert. Legends know great musicians.

I saw Rainbow on the "Difficult to Cure "tour in81, Rose Tattoo were support. I was 12 at the time ,me and my mate had sent off to the Rainbow fan club for tickets but they never arrived so his dad wrote to them just before the show. We were told to knock on the back door which we did and were let in and led backstage down a corridor passing Richies dressing room . We were given a huge green sticker each which were backstage passes. I,ll never forget that night.

you're right, Rainbow is a hell of a group. And the singer's voice is great. But this song was in fact written by Russ Ballard. Perhaps you've heard of him. He's an excellent British songwriter and musician. Their version is brilliant but it's fair to let people who may not know that Rainbow didn't write the song( Since you been gone was written by R Ballard too). Cheers

I just watched an interview with JLT where Ritchie called him for the first time. They played tracks for him and he wrote lyrics to them. I Surrender was one he mentioned as being on of the first.

well Blackmore was not only a great guitar player, but also he was a true conductor... just look at 4:07 and 4:42 ... he conducts the band as an orchestra, telling the other band members when to stop or when to continue... truly one of the greatest and most influential and rock musicians of all time

Th GREAT bands improvise so much each night, it becomes necessary if they are going to be tight. & THAT'S what separates th Great bands frm th mediocre: fresh, improvised on fire solos, yet still tight as a band! That's why Led Zep & Ritchie Blackmore (whether in Deep Purple, or Rainbow) are legends. Humble pie was this way as well (& we ALL kno how great Steve Marriott was!) When I saw: Led Zep, Humble Pie, early Alice Cooper, & dozens of other guitar orientated blues based rock bands in th 70s & 80s, th awesome ones all did this. Greetings frm Detroit, Michigan, USA😎
